Estate Sale Fever! Antique Sale in Bentonville Arkansas! what will I find?!?

Alex, did you go to Crystal Bridges, The Museum of American Art? A vision of Alice Walton, a second-generation Walmart tycoon and one of the richest women in the world, it's truly a sight worth visiting. A good friend of mine was the administrator for a small regional art and history museum in Missouri when Crystal Bridges first opened. There were a lot of emotions ranging from delight to disgust among many of the elite in the art world that all those resources would be poured into a museum in such a remote and sparsely populated part of the county. Anyway, my friend and her husband were walking around, and they kept seeing these 3 very well-dressed people (2 women and a man, I believe) walking around stopping to discuss much of the art. Finally, my friend walked up to them and asked if one of them would mind taking a picture of my friend and her husband. They happily agreed. Afterward the trio asked my friends where they were from and my friend said a small art museum in the Missouri Ozarks...what about you? To which one of the trio responded...Oh, we're just here for the day. We flew down from the Guggenheim in NY. Ironically, Crystal Bridges now ranks 11th among art museums in the U.S. on one well-known list. The Guggenheim isn't even mentioned. I in no way wish to disparage the Guggenheim, just noting that Crystal Bridges has managed very well since it's opening. A few years ago they moved an entire Frank Lloyd Wright house from the East to the grounds of the museum. Sorry so long. I rarely respond, but I love art. 🖌 🎨🖼

Hi Alex! Welcome back to Arkansas! No tornadoes this time. 😂 The still lamp is funny. Just for reference, we have a 50+ miles of sales called Bargains Galore on 64 the first weekend in August. Random sales and booths set up alongside highway 64 from Conway, Ark. to Ozark, Ark. I used to go every year but I can’t take the heat anymore. Also people drive like idiots, so be careful if you come for this. I have found some jacked up prices by dealers, but it’s primarily individual yard sales or moving sales. The sales that are off the main highway are less traveled and may have some good items. I have bought a Lane cedar lined chest with the drawer for only $50. At another I purchased an Oriental style pictured large chest with the drawer for $50. I had intended to give each granddaughter a Hope chest, but I love the style of the Oriental chest and kept it for myself. I have to find 3 more chests eventually. Anyway, I’m glad you made it back. Okay your latest videos a 0:25 re driving me crazy! I live in Bentonville and I just want to be alongside you looking at good stuff. Lol. I'm glad you found The Rose. It has always been one of my favorites in this area. And it's a shame you didn't get here before the tornado hit the one down the road in May. Are you checking out 410 vintage while you're in the area? Love these people know their stuff so the prices might be a little bit more. But I'm sure you'll find some nuggets in there.

USPS international rates (or UPS, etc) have gone from OK to $$$ in the last few years. By the time he paid shipping he'd go backward when he sold whatever he bought.
