Great points. I have suffered the same issues with trailers etc and someone on one of the facebook groups gave the locator link. You would think someone in corporate would supply the info for more efficiency. You know me man, I would be Mr Estes negative and you keep it calm and cool. Estes is a great company without the micro management, that may be the challenge.

@@cryptonator1988 Estes has 4 terminals around Atl. Marietta,Ellenwood,Fulton,Athens. Linehaul is pretty laid back. Xtraboard Regional tops out .77cpm. You get a bid run it's .74cpm.

YRC has some of the oldest beat up tractors and trailers. I have no idea how they’re DOT safe!

Where you been working since you got your CDL?

You’ll need a year of experience before Estes will hire you with a CDL, but the dock-to-driver program isn’t bad - from what I hear. ODFL, SAIA, YRC, and just about every LTL carrier offers the training, but I think XPO will take you off the street without CDL experience if you’ve gone through a CDL school. Choice is ultimately yours

Large terminals may hire you directly into a Bid run. However, you’ll bid on a run every year. We only have 6 bid runs at my terminal

People also need to realize a lot of these LTL carries Estes, old dominion, saia, r an l, Dayton freight, central transport, xpo sometimes pay high miles cause that's all they can offer they don't pay your hourly rate delay pay while you wait for your trailers to be loaded or your hourly rate pay if you break down right away you gotta sit for awhile or it's some bogus pay like $10 a hour. They don't pay delay pay while your sitting in heavy traffic or your hourly pay rate to chain up. And the biggest one in my opinion is SHOW UP PAY if your show time is 9:30pm and gate is 10:00 and you been sitting and you were supposed to be out the gate at 10:00pm all delay pay after 10:00pm people needa realize high mile pay ain't nothing unless your not getting paid for allllllll your time. And there's really only 2 companies that do that FEDEX FREIGHT AND UPS FEEDER DRIVER.

ABF also pays delay, but when you’re making 6-figures… I kinda let that stuff go. We got truckload carriers getting delay and all of that, but they’re a lot less than we are

Thanks for the info you put out. I applied and they want to hire me. Im nervous but i think its a good career move. Hopefully i can learn to hook up and pull doubles and all the new tech stuff. Last time i did otr full time was 18 yrs ago and did paper logs. If they are willing to train me and have a little mercy im willing to give it all i got. I may email you about the trailer finder when ever i get on my own and a phone or whatever stuff they supply us with.
