I don't use sunscreen every day. I stay in throughout the day and my windows have 3 layers of UV and infrared protection. I also have very thick curtain on from morning to evening. I use sunscreen if I plan on going out 30 mins after. I also wear sun protective clothing. Here in India it's impossible to get affordable fragrance free sunscreen. I am very allergy prone and have HIV. So I only use it when I have to go out during day.

@@roxywyndham I don't want to risk contact dermatitis. My immune system was very sensitive before HIV I get allergies almost everyday. HIV makes it harder for me to maintain a study T cell count. They vary within the the normal range so I didn't want to add fragrance into the mix and freak out the whole thing even more

Hey Cassandra, I would really love to see you go over the brand Monat. They are very predatory towards their audience with tricky marketing techniques and "exclusive" ingredients. All of their products contain at least 10 fragrance oils! People are still being tricked by them and it's frustrating given how expensive it is!

This video is great I have the “dehydrated combo skin”, face lacks water for the most part cuz I’m naturally dry but the face is super oily (mostly in t zone). I have sensitive skin to boot but neutragena (oddly enough is the only cleanser my face seems to like) but never gel (allergic to it) then ordinary niacinimide serum then finish with elf eye and face cream duo (holy hydration but probably moving on to happy hydration to add some oil to perhaps stop the oil maybe)

I've been trying to find a sunscreen that agrees with my skin and doesn't feel heavy or greasy because I have relatively oily and acne prone skin. I just watched your last video rating sunscreens on their white cast and went to order the Thinksport Mineral SPF 30 that you recommended. However, it is only available online and it says that it can't be delivered to my zip code which threw me for a loop... Really wanted to try that one since I have very pale skin!

I considered modeling when I was very young. I was around 9 or 10 and I had already started getting acne and my front teeth were slightly crooked so they told me they wouldn't accept me at the time. I don't remember everything they said, I just got the feeling they just didn't really think I was pretty enough.

I would check out a video by Penn Smith Skincare, amazing alternatives to expensive skincare products! You might be surprised about what she says re: Sturm. Also, any number of skin care folks have videos on HA. Cassandra has a video on HA. Dr Davin Lim has a good video on HA and so does esty Go See Christy. Doctorly, Dr Dray, Dr Shereene Idriss amongst others all have videos on HA.

Also, she's another one that celebs use so there's that as well. People think celebs know something about skin that they don't. A few derms have done videos on medical-grade vs drugstore skin care. For the most, there's really not that much difference.

I LOVE this channel and Cassandra has helped to demystify so many skincare ingredients. However (and this is more a commentary on skincare KZbin in general, definitely not just this channel) I’m not a fan of the extreme backlash whenever someone says they prefer “natural” skincare. IMO “natural” or “clean” beauty is just shorthand for products that emphasize chemicals/extracts found in nature over manmade chemicals created in a lab. Of COURSE there are dangerous things for our skin in nature (poison ivy) and of COURSE just because something is made in a lab doesn’t mean it’s harmful. But I think it’s pretty harmless to state that you prefer more naturally-derived ingredients, as long as you’re not fear-mongering. It’s literally just a personal preference. It happens to be my preference (although I use plenty of non-“clean” beauty too - whatever works for my skin!) and it feels kind of alienating whenever a skincare KZbinr suggests that I’m stupid or ill-informed for having this preference. Again, totally not an attack on Cassandra specifically. Still love her to bits.

Don't worry about it. "Radiation" is one of those scary words that isn't really as problematic as people make it out to be. Your cell phone probably emits more radiation than your toothbrush, and that's something I'm guessing you use way more often than a toothbrush.

Don't most cleansing oils have emulgators in them? So then when you wash them off with water they create an emulsion and come of without leaving an oily film on the skin? My cleansing oil doesnt leave any oil film behind, and when I dont feel like it, I dont have to go in with a second cleanse.

I'd have to feel the products but from the way they are advertised he's using a cleanser that is intended to be a first cleanse and then following it up with a toner that they call a "cleanser remover". I feel like if you're still oily after your first cleanse, why wouldn't you second cleanse instead of trying to get it off with a stripping toner? or at least something with actives lol

I was once walking through a mall and someone gave me a sample from a store. She offered me something else and asked me to come inside to try it. She asked me about my under eye puffiness. I told her it was allergies lol. She tried to sell me something for $300 (usually $500). She applied it under one eye. It was one of those that when you wash it off, the effects go away lol

The main ingredients you should stay away from are retinol (any Vitamin A) and salicylic acid! Azelaic acid is a fantastic replacement for both that is pregnancy safe. You don't have to change your whole routine just for pregnancy 😁
