This was THE BEST EPISODE you 2 have produced. Finally felt like I tuned in. I learned something. There was great back and forth. Meaningful conversation. Thank you both.

You two made my start building Kenrith exactly how the list shows in paper as soon as TODAY!! It will chew up two days to build it, but I definitely have all the cards here, so I will build it now :) I built the Etali cEDH deck recently as well and will keep both up with all original cards to be ready for more cEDH tournaments in the future :)

I really like these episodes where you go into your thought process about certain cards, experiments, and worries. Very insightful. Also, it’s not bragging if you back it up. Good luck winning that awesome prize

After Ian's last Kenrith video I took 2 decks apart to build it. I'm a turbo player at heart and shifting to a midrange strategy has been a bit of a learning curve but I love hearing the thought process of such an accomplished player

I’m cutting the breach line in this deck and adding a feed from the real. Cutting 5 cards (breach, diamond, brain freeze, intuition and sevine) let me have more space for interaction and tutors. + I already have 3 wincons, thassa, teferi/displacer and infinite mana. Let’s see if it works.

Would love more episodes discussing decks/cards like this. Not sure if you've already did a podcast about this, but I would also love to hear a discussion on what cards people think are auto include. You did touch on it for awhile here, but I think its one of the more important topics that need to be discussed when brewing or innovating.

Hey hey!! I feel totally vindicated now.. you just mentioned our convo explicitly! (I’m “The Malcolm Kediss player” who doesn’t play breach) Go on!! Dude, seriously, BowMasters is only an S tier card when everyone isn’t building their decks in fear of it. You’re 100% right (as usual dude., I really think that), that you are getting an edge by cutting BowMasters and let everyone else play it and you reap the equity of its being in the format w/out having to dedicate the slot to it. Keep on man. You’ve won the right to trust your own ideas. 🖖namaste

So while we're all here, I have a burning inquiry, if you will, for Ian specifically: What deck-building requirements have to be met in order to be running the Wishclaw + Emrakul combo, specifically for 5-color piles? Thanks!

At least in my head cannon, my chat w you suggesting you trust your own thinking more than the hive mind exactly about Sylvan library and higher land counts was the data point that pushed you over the edge on adding S library and one more land. I think you are 100% correct in this decision bud. Dude, Sylvan library is a messed up card. I’ll play it till they take it away from me and they all think it’s bad so they’ll never take it away😂

My one argument for obm is it's still very strong regardless. And similar to mayhem devil, it can win with emiel dockside if there is a drannith in play. Having flash and being only 2 mana just makes it that much easier to cast
@yiflux51246 ай бұрын
Ian, how do you feel about reverberate and fork in etali, along side deflecting swat, flare of duplication, both veils, both red blasts, and tibalts trickery?

What are thoughts of leaning more into more of kenny's reanimation with Atraxa or hullbreaker?
@heaththroop42406 ай бұрын
would buried alive be a viable option in kenrith? i know it's 3 mana at sorcery speed but it gets up to 3 creatures into the graveyard for kenrith to reanimate and start a creature combo.
@JesseInglis-lj6yo6 ай бұрын
engagement, jk! kenny seems like such a cool deck. i feel like it has more room than the partners for unique cards, one kenny can be a totally different one than the kenny next to it which sounds cool in a world of a bajillion blue farms that have like 1 or 2 cards diff from the one next to it

Love this episode! I have a question idk where the best place to ask because I’m scared of Reddit and this channel’s community is a lot nicer. Are stickers still legal in cEDH ? I haven’t seen anyone talk about it.

This is my favorite episode you all have ever done. Cal, Ian is just on another level and he should be doing the vast majority of the talking. Like come on, you really think Arden/Vial is better than Ian’s kenrith or sisay decks? The man is so innovative and totally free from all constraints, you should really just be facilitating him.
@TheMindSculptors6 ай бұрын
When has Cal EVER sad Ardenn/Vial is better than Kenrith 😂😂😂
@frankyg8216 ай бұрын
@@TheMindSculptors he is running the deck in leagues right? Convinced Ian to play it in a tourney? Yes he never said Arden> Ken, but I’ve been surprised to have so much airtime, and tourney time, go down that road. Why grind MTGO leagues on a deck like that? By choosing to play it vs the other options you are “saying” you think the deck is good
@frankyg8216 ай бұрын
And I’m only saying Cal should be in a supportive role, that’s all. It doesn’t have to be equal time and attention to both hosts.

fwiw, one of the winningest winners in our meta up here in the PTW doesn't run thoracle in their list. it's almost entirely just draw-go control/midrange grind, and they more or less have the same logic i think in that 'there are so many wincons that aren't thoracle, and thoracle honestly just sucks quality wise'
@your_priscylla6 ай бұрын
OH also about Emrakul, I do think Esper is the best shell for that card no joke. I've been playing against a Sen Triplets list a lot lately and it more or less just has an Emrakul in the command zone (and also just straight up running Emrakul in the 99 as well). I have lost a lot of games against my own deck at this point XD
