My replacement came just in time. I was considering a Deck Mate because I saw it had micro SD card slots, but then I found out the replacement would have their own. I don't think my Deck was affected by the magnet, as no stats changed when I tested it, but I couldn't be bothered to open it up to be sure.

If you ever want to make your own vinyl "skins" you can get a Brother Scan N Cut DX series to make those custom cuts for you. WIth the built in 600 dpi color scanner you can scan in any shape up to 12x24 inches to create "scan to cut", "scan to data", and regular document/image scanning to USB. With the scan to cut option it allows you to scan an image and then cut it out automatically. The Auto blades allow the machine to determine the proper amount of cutting force, speed, and depth of the blade. No more guess work like with a Cricut or commercial cutter. The built in computer allows you to perform all of the functions right off the cutter itself. But with a Windows or Apple PC you can use their free desktop/laptop software to gain greater flexibility. It comes with built in wi fi, 2 USB 2 ports (Types A and B) for connecting to your PC and storing data to USB Flash Drive, self powered HDD, and to your PC. There is an optional roll feeder supporting up to 72 inch long rolls of vinyl. The roll feeder also lets you cut the vinyl without the need for an adhesive backed mat. The DX series cuts most craft materials up to 3mm thick. Competing craft cutters and commercial ones typically cut on 1mm thick material.

I am torn between this one and the JSAUX upcoming modular case. And the main thing that interests me is the travel cover so I can throw the thing into my backpack and not always take the big travel case with me. DBrand really got effed when Valve changed the spec of the deck mid-production. I absolutely feel for them and it is a major plus how they made people whole and halted the roll-out. Kudos to them.

The ModCase is IMO pretty good (and it's already available, I got mine a week ago), and it should work in a backpack. Also, personally, the button extension through the case is a good thing (since I disliked the KillSwitch's holes above the Deck's buttons). But if you want more drop protection and don't mind paying over twice as much, the KillSwitch is a good choice. But if you're in the EU, you'll end up paying something closer to $100 for the KillSwitch vs $30 for the ModCase.

This was a pass for me onlu because it still wont fit on my valve dock according to dbrand. I understand that theres a dock adapter but I ended up buying a Spigen case because of the cutout that will fit with the usb c and the fit is snug on the dock and stands it vertically but its useable for me.

Fits in mine, although you have to take the kick stand off, fits in the elasticated compartment in the back though, the travel cover however doesn't fit, but if you're using the padded case it's kinda redundant

I have the travel kit and scratching the screen has never been a concern, however, I always try to be careful when putting it on, as I feel that I could snap the trigger, though I don't really think that is possible, but you never know.

Nice. I hadn't been up to date as to it release, and ended up buying the *Mepatem* grip case which is very similar to it and is actually really good. It doesn't cover the palm rests (which I prefer) but the faceplate on it could use deeper thumbstick slots to accommodate thumbstick caps. Maybe I'll toss some coin to DBrand at some point to try this out.

Yes, I have both, just got my replacement last week with the mechanical attachment mechanism, but I'm still using the magnetic one as I tend to remove the kickstand several times a day. I have a Huaying fan, so I don't really need to worry about the magnets.

I have five cases and this one by far is the best. The Jsaux one I got just doesn’t feel right after a while. The extended back buttons are too easy to click and hang on everything. All the other hard cases have similar problem. Too slippery, too grippy fit pockets, flairs out too much. I lucky have to fan that isn’t effected by the magnets. I didn’t get in the replacement but haven’t bothered to test it out on the deck.

If you’re looking for a case that’s modular with accessories go for the jsaux case, it has the front cover like the Dbrand kill switch but far cheaper, much more worth the price. If you don’t need the front cover then I’d say go with the spiegen + deck mate combo so you can use any accessories you like and not be limited by the packages jsaux and dbrand offer

I think it was the fan placement, not the fan itself. Basically Valve changed where they placed the fan inside the steam deck, which screwed over Dbrand.

Sad that after a short period of time, dbrand skins shrink. I've bought a few for Galaxy phones and they all wind up the same.
