You can also convert the GDI files to CHD to save space if you want. This will save space on your machine as the games can take up a bunch of space. I have also confirmed the artwork works just fine in the CHD format. Awesome video as always!

Downloaded the latest build, which has a major compatibility improvement in rom graphics and also supports rumble gamepads. The premium license is totally worth it; the process is very easy that only requires a payment method and an e-mail. I finally played Alone in the Dark & Grandia II without any issues and it's like a dream come true ^^

On another note, if you can get NES running at 4K, to the point where I can see Mario’s mustache hairs individually, then you-are-a-god!

Do you use an Elgato HD60s? Been struggling with the Dreamcast Pi emulation it buffers when we are live streaming with an Elgato as soon as a game launches. Would love to see more retro on your channel.

The desktop client works well on Linux. With that out of the way on my S10 the font is unread-ably small so I can't even read it well enough to see if it is possible to resize them making it unusable for me.

I would recommend using the full GDI rips of Dreamcast games. I used Redream on the S22 Ultra and experienced no issues. Tee Off Golf was a favorite of mine.

Flycast is better. If you want to play games HD and without paying, i recommend flycast. Also 6gb Ram enough to play 4K, 4gb RAM enough to play 2K and 3gb ram enough to play 720p or 960p(depending games). But redream with 3gb barely handle 480p.

I wouldn't mind seeing a video on the performance comparison using the same hardware but with Linux as well. I find that some emulators in Linux don't quite work well, depending on your hardware and so on compared to how it would work in Windows. Some emulation works very well, but some emulators and emulation seems to be lacking in the Linux department sadly. Probably really comes down to what hardware you have and so on. Its pretty bad when I can get PPSSPP to work like a charm with no effort, but still have issues getting a PS1 emulator to work well in Linux.

Tested Redream on Intel NUC DC3217 with i3 3217u GPU today. It runs absolutely fantastic with native internal res with 60 fps. And my NUC is a really old machine !

At the native 480p resolution, even a cheap PC can emulate the Dreamcast (any PC from the last 10 years can run it easily. PS2, Gamecube/Wii, Wii U, Switch, DS, 3DS, PS3, XBOX360 are the only systems where the emulator requires a good rig).

Worth it? When every other emulator on the planet comes with these features completely free? No thanks. Plus flycast has less input delay all while having these "premium" features for free lolol. Dont get me wrong redream is amazing but forcing any amount of $ for certain features is just not it. There are many ways to fund development without being a scum. But yall do you. I luckily paid for it before the price went up and currently share my key with multiple people. If the key ever reported by anyone ti redream devs and it gets banned I simply buy another to share with my peeps.

Can someone help me? Everytime I open redream (I have premium) a couple things load into my desktop. A redream.log file and a folder that says cache with the video game picture and a couple other note files you can open. How do I get these to stop popping up on my desktop everytime I open redream?

GDI can be compressed to lossless chd format using MAME chdman utility. Most games will have smaller sizes than those games in cdi when converted to chd and will have all the data intact. Forget about cdi for all games except later unlicensed ones that weren't ever released on GD-ROM. Keep in mind that many games originally released on GD-ROM have missing content like music or reduced video quality in cdi format. There's absolutely no reason to use those rips unless you want to burn a CD for unmodded Dreamcast.

Hey guys just posting as a long shot, been trying to figure it out with no avail, is there a way to run naomi/atomiswave Roms in the re dream stand alone emulator? (Android or windows) Or any other emulator thats not retroarch? They come in zip file format, I run them on retroarch with the flycast core, but it can be a pain, once i accidentally updated my flycast core and bam all my naomi/dreamcast games stop working and didnt had a back up (I always have multiple back ups now), but wanted to see if there are alternatives and dont rely solely on retroarch.
