(I'm sure there's some card that circumvents this, but I don't know of it) so yeah, basically extra deck monsters have weird restrictions on being revived, resummoned, or whatever else

@@ManusiaKagakRusuh It's not a "summoning effect" as much as it's just a standalone rule that no card so far has overruled ("Malefic Paradigm Dragon" works around it though): "Extra Deck monsters have to be properly summoned before they can be summoned from the grave". That also applies to all monsters with clauses like "Cannot be normal summoned/set. Must (first) be special summoned by...". Example: Sending "Ultimate Conductor Tyranno" to the graveyard and then special summoning it from the grave is not possible unless it has been properly summoned before. Extra Deck monsters all follow that same rule. For that same reason you also can't revive an "Ultimate Conductor Tyranno" that has been summoned with "Double Evolution Pill" as that is not a proper summon. Cards like "Crystron Halqifibrax" work around that by letting the monster they special summon be treated as the proper summon, which in that case is a synchro summon. Basically a summon of a monster has to fulfill both the "summoning conditions" and be in line with the "summoning restriction" rules. And only the former can be circumvented via "ignoring summoning conditions"-like effects. Summoning conditions also are always written on a card, either as a "summoning procedure" like link or fusion material that is listed or by clauses that are otherwise written at the very start of a monsters effect text. Properly summoning a monster obviously would mean to follow that procedure first. Overall its very complicated and needlessly so in my opinion, but it is what it is.

attachment cybern's actually does have a couple legitimate uses: you can use it to easily give cyberdark end an extra attack or give cyberdarkness an extra negate. and it's also a light, allowing you to use horizon withought cydras in pure cyberdark.

Even the new structure deck it’s hinted toward the cyberdark playstyle. Cyberdark End Dragon, Cyberdark Chimera, Attachment Cybern, and Cybernetic Horizon. Well for Cyber Dragons all they could use is Cybernetic Horizon (and maybe Eternal Cyber), but like dpygo said “Cyber Dragons are already good they don’t need additional support, but Cyberdarks need extra support to function

There is one use for Attachment Cybernetic. Equip from hand to Cyberdark End Dragon after it uses it’s own effect. This causes Cyberdark End Dragon to have an additional attack. Still not great, but considering that they are going to be in a structure deck, makes a bit more sense.

Attachment Cybern can be used to give Cyberdark end dragon a second attack turn 1 or to give Cyberdarkness Dragon a second Omni negate. If the second option is the case you can actually send attachment Cybern to the graveyard to negate anything and then bring something back. It's not much but atleast it does something to improve your relatively easy to bring out Bossmonsters??? (relatively easy as in Cyberdark Claw can single handedly bring both Cyberdark end and Cyberdarkness out with just itself, any spell and any light Cyber/Cyberdark chimera in your hand). Still really disappointed but I don't think these cards are as bad as people make them look like.

How? You dont even play any machine "Cyber" Fusion Monsters in Cyber Dragon... only the chimeratechs. And even if you had any targets the cards first effect would not really help that much and it would just be another brick turn 1/2 which cydras really do not need. And playing the card only for the second effect is not worth it at all.

I think you were a little too harsh on Attachment Cybern. The Cyberdarks can only equip monsters from the GY, while it's equip effect works from the hand or field (and can also equip to regular Cyber monsters, not just Cyberdarks). This allows you, in the case of drawing it, to still attach it to a monster to make use of it's second effect. While it still might be preferable to send this directly to the GY for the Cyberdarks to equip, the first effect prevents it from truly being a "dud" card that you just want to get rid of ASAP if drawn.

Literally the only reason you play attachment Cybern at 1 or more in Cyberdarks is because they pretty much can't use their new searcher if they don't. sure, you could use cyber dragon monsters instead, but take it from me who's done some testing. Don't. Cyber dragons actually hamper the entire playstyle of Cyberdarks, while Cyber-dragons can run a very small Cyberdark Engine using Chimera and their discard searchers and they can work just fine. so Cybern was needed for cyberdarks, but not for the traditional reason. sure, you can run cyber dragon in the deck instead, but that would take up the utility spots in the Extra deck, which Is the new modern gimmick of Cyberdarks.

The thing that frustrates me the most about Attachment Cybern is that it still has the exact same problem as Cyberdark Cannon/Claw: if it's destroyed as an equip because the equipped monster leaves the field, then you do NOT get the floating effecct. This is because it left the field BECAUSE it wasn't equipped to a monster, which makes sense but also makes those floating effects basically useless since they'll only trigger if a) S/T removal is used on them (never gonna happen) b) The Cyberdarks use their self-protection effects (requires them to battle). Konami are clearly pushing the idea of the original Cyberdark trio being beatsticks but that is such a terrible game plan that I'm not even going to dignify it with an insult. I was so hopeful after the first reveals for this Structure Deck because I actually really like the concept of Cyberdarks, but seeing these two cards has drained all my hype away.

Highly unlikely. The only way this card could be busted is if there was a SOPT fusion monster with a great combo extension effect that doesn't archetype lock you, of which none of the cyber fusion monsters have. So it's left as a comeback card, otherwise known as completely useless unless it's highly searchable (and even then it still stinks)

My cyber dark deck can summon 3 shooting star dragons and i combo with 2 darkness and my entrie board negates plays.Cyberdake invasion equips from the gy shooting quasar and cyber dark claw dumps shorting quasar so incasionnkeeps bring him and cyberdark world equips from the gy shooting quasar as well if I run cyberdark dragon or if I run cyberdark end I can use his effect to equip too.And if I get a cyber dark infintity it’s like 6 monsters negate all the plays and with my face down infinity impermanence I can negate more stuff like spell traps and more mosnters

Not really... Most versions still focus on the fusions to break boards and OTK. And even the controll versions where infinitiy is most at home in rarely go for infinity turn one and still use the fusions more (mainly the contact fusion and rampage when you are in a Position to OTK). Cyber Dragons are literally all different levels... thats the opposite of what an XYZ deck is.

I assume Attachment Cybern equip effect is to get an extra equip on Cyberdark End, or an extra equip fodder for Cyberdarkness negate, so it's not completely useless but not the best. At best, if you insist on running pure Cyberdark without regular Cyber Dragons its WIND attribute makes it your mill target for Horizon

So Attachment Cybern is pretty trash...but its a Light level 3 Dragon "Cyber" so does that mean its worth adding in a Cyberdark deck with Cybernetic Horizon? (Which has a good effect but requires you to use two Cyber cards with different Attributes) To pitch Cybern to the grave and get that effect? I like that more than running Cyber Dragon just to run Horizon. Cyber Dragons on their own have enough that Cyberdarks just clutter it, I dont really feel running 3 Cyber Dragons in Cyberdarks for Cybernetic Horizon is worth, but Attachment Cybern? I dunno, might be worth to pitch more to the grave.

The issue is that this can only summon extra deck monsters from the GY that were properly summoned first. So if you just dumped it with horizen, it can't be revived. Eternal cyber has the same issue as hyper blaze.

If the monster it is equipped to is linked off, it isn't sent to the GY WHILE equipped to a monster. Its destroyed and sent to the GY BECAUSE it is no longer equipped to a monster so its effect won't work. (This also applies when the cyberdark is returned to the hand due to inferno)

I feel like the core issue with all of these new cards, its that they want you to be running both cyberdarks and cyber dragons in 1 same deck (which is gimmicky to say the least, since both archetypes work better standalone than combined) and as a result, we have all of these underwhelming cards that barely support either archetype, don't really work together and/or are very gimmicky.

Not really, the problem wasn't combining the two as that's how they were always meant to be used (GX). The problem is Konami doesn't want meta Structure Decks anymore so now we're back to just getting mostly meh to bad cards again. With the occasional accidental good card. Even if this was a pure Cyber Dragon or Cyberdark SD. It would have still gotten this treatment. In the case of Cyber Dragons, the filler cards would be even more apparant.

​@@KyanbuXM I understand that hell kaiser used both cyberdarks and cyber dragons in the same deck, however, that doesn't mean they were meant to be ran together, I mean, Yugi used dark magician, archfiends, magnet warriors and then some, yet you don't really want to combine all of them because of the way the cards and the archetypes were designed are not really compatible with each other. Konami not wanting to release super strong cards on structure decks is fair enough, but if they really wanted to push the cyberdark and cyber dragon playstyle I personally believe these kind of cards are not the best way to do so. Perhaps retrains of the old trio of cyberdarks with more flexible effects that could close the gap between both archetypes would have worked, but as of right now, although these cards are not the worst or unusable, I don't think they help that much either.
