After the Dota 2 tournament, yes, it will be the largest prize pool in history. However as of now Fortnite holds the record. Dota 2 hold the 2nd-6th largest prize pools as of now though, and will have 6/7 of the largest prize pools in esports after the next tournament.

His family showed up when he got the trophy. 4. 3.2 mln people watched it online, but it was only streamed on twitch and youtube, and you can't really compare it to the Football World Cup, because the game was streamed in almost 300 public channels.

That's just one tournament, e-sport pros play several money games a year. Most e-sport games have pro circuit tournaments and leagues (similar to the PGA pro tour), with different tournament tiers, including: exhibitions, minors (weekly/monthly), premier (biannual/annual) and majors (biannual/annual). Most pro players/teams sign with e-sport organizations, which typically function as pro agencies and management teams. As for games changing or becoming obsolete, that doesn't happen very often. There are tournaments for old Atari games, NES games, pinball, Tetris, etc. Albeit, the older games draw less attention, orgs, sponsors, pros, etc. but they still have large communities and tournaments. For instance, pro Street Fighter tournaments are some of the largest in the e-sport community, which includes some of their older titles, like the SF2 series, which is nearly 30 years old.
