When parents pass on terrible eating habits and don't encourage enough physical activity in their kids, it's almost a form of child abuse. Even if it never gets this bad, no kid wants to turn out fat. That life-long prison of obesity often begins with a poor start as a kid.

I was pretty chubby until about the eighth grade, got fit in highschool and maintained since. When I see fat adults, I always wonder how much more difficult it must be to get in shape having always been that fat, than having used your growth spurts to thin out when it’s easy. If you’re fat and 20 years old, you better get on top of that. You can be fat when you’re 50 and your bones aren’t working like they used to; if you’re fat when you’re young an got the hormones and the energy, you’re just lazy, and setting yourself up to just get fatter your whole life. It’s how people get to 707 pounds, cause what is that really when you were 704 the week before? They don’t think about the long term, and how irresponsible it is to blindly follow bad habits.

Everyone talking on top of each other, on top of the clip, Ethan going back on the clip IDK how many times, making noises on top, not really letting the others finish their ideas.. And the title of the video doesn't make sense either: "Ethan Klein on My 600 Pound Life". Seriously? He literally only said the show is "sad", then proceeded to insist on the noises and on the guy's dick (despite everyone else actually trying to have a real conversation).

This is actually the only episode of this show I've ever watched. His parents got divorced, he lived with his mom and was overweight and then she died and it spiraled out of control. So he moved in with his dad, who he resented a lot due to the divorce. The dad had a whole slew of health problems himself (spoiler: his dad died during the filming) and really needed help himself. I can put myself in his place and see how he decided to let Casey live with the consequences because denying him food would only add to the resentment. There's a scene in the episode where his dad brings them McDonald's and he doesn't get enough food to suit Casey and Casey says "give me your food" and the dad instantly caved and handed it over and had nothing for himself. Very dysfunctional family.

Fun fact: One of the most 'popular' people ever to appear on My 600lb Life, Steven Assanti (2012), has lost all of his weight and is actually a KZbinr. He has two channels. One called Vegetable Police(147k subs) where he talks about plant based diets, and another called Camera Conspiracies(59.5k subs) where he discusses camera news and production. It's mind blowing to think it's the same person as when he appeared in the show in 2012, but it is. He has a video on his Vegetable Police channel talking about his experience on the show.

You should do a video about "Ethan Klein and his $600k+ a year life". You could talk about how much money changed you and how you used to be a totally different person, but why we should all like you now. Now that you are the person you used to fight against. And why that, now because it's you, it's fine.

What strikes me about this guy and a _lot_ of the people on that show is the level of self awareness about their situation. Before I came across the show, of course I knew people... Got that big. But I assumed that there needed to be some disconnect somewhere, some misunderstanding as to the connection between food income and size. There's people on the show that are like that, they're in denial as to what they're doing to themselves and the people around them, but there's many as well who understand their situation and can look back and see exactly how their actions have landed them in the position they're in. And they want to change, they want to be healthy, they want to be there for their families, and be a support rather than a burden for the people around them. The fact that there's those people who weren't in denial and realized that they were destroying their lives with food, as it was happening, is terrifying. Imagine the helplessness you feel in that situation, where you can't get away from your unhealthy habits until it gets to the point where you weigh four or five times what a healthy person would. Most of us could lose a few pounds, imagine that snowballing to 400 lbs, and feeling that there was something you should have done to stop it and you couldn't or wouldn't.
