Literally Maggie convincing howie to nominate James and Sarah is on the levels of manipulation, akin to Chelsie convincing mj to nominate Leah: although I don’t care for Maggie as a person, this was a total boss move for a player such as her
@Cross-k5v6 сағат бұрын
Leah moved on from MJ right after Matt departed, joining with Quinn, Joe. Leah also had final 2's w/ Angela & Brooklyn. Making it clear Leah viewed MJ as expendable & replaceable especially joining people who either shoved mj under a bus or who were openly targeting MJ. MJ's desire to target Leah wasn't accurately portrayed in the TV edit, Leah didn't even have a game relationship with mj for over a month! After Matt left, Leah would've voted mj out a couple times when tagging her guy simps who openly swung & missed at mj.
@beckysmith90626 сағат бұрын
Disagree. Maggie getting Howie to nominate James and Sarah is much better than Chelsie getting MJ to nominate Leah. Chelsie had been MJ's #1 ally for most of the season at that point. Since Leah picked up MJ when Brooklyn left, MJ was ALWAYS going to choose Chelsie over Leah. Howie was NEVER working with Maggie, and KNEW she was the leader of the other side. It is much more impressive convincing your opponent to do a move against their best interest than someone who thinks you're their #1 ally.

@Cross-k5v4 сағат бұрын
@@kimwilliamsii2122 it’s important to mention as well that howie doing that gave the friendship the majority voting block that they needed to win the game in the jury phase. All MJ did was take a different path to the end try to lock in a final two with somebody that she had been working with for about 2 months. Leah’s boy friend Quinn used a coup de’tat on MJ to where she almost left and still Leah was willing to vote out mj at a couple of points. This year the TV edit really screwed mj Over to where it wasn’t an accurate portrayal .

@beckysmith90629 сағат бұрын
Wonderful video. Maggie is such a phenomenal player. I truly think she deserves so much credit for pioneering and successfully pulling off the objetively best strategy that we still see modern winners do. Before Maggie, no player had reached the end with a majority alliance. Will played a very solo game. Lisa played a solo game with individual bonds. Jun played a floating game going between sides. Drew played a very sociallt fluid game where he was friends with everyone, but moved depending on power. So many modern players, Hayden, Derrick, Cody, Jackson, Kaycee, Tyler, Chelsie, ect. have replicated her strategy of forming an early majority and staying with that. It has produced more winners/end gamers than any other strategy. Maggie was the blueprint for this, so that alone, gives her so much credit. Maggie thought of moves that were so ahead of her time. A jury pact 10 seasons before Derrick did it is so impressive. Using the idea of someone returning as a bargaining chip is so overpowered. A HUGE reason that she was able to mist howie into going after James/Sarah is because she said if Cappy returns, he will keep you safe. BB6 is the FIRST and LAST time the player's explicity knew about a returning player in advance. Why is it the last? Because Maggie broke it by using that to her advantage. As you mentioned, Maggie holding her group together is so much more impressive to me than any other alliance leader. We arent talking about Derrick holding competent players that are fans of the show together. This isn't the Brigade, who all got along super well sticking together. This wasn't the Cookout sticking together for non game purposes. This was Maggie alone, holding together an emotional group of players with underlying turmoil and conflict with each other to the very end. Most alliances, when there are two players who have conflict, choose a side and snip one. Maggie, made sure the conflict in her alliance were the LAST two there so she was guaranteed end game. Maggie is truly the female goat.
@4Tom4lepus46 сағат бұрын
Very that. People love to hate her because she opposed Janelle, but Maggie's game was the blueprint for many of the most dominating alliances and players. And, very obviously, she still did it better than many of them. With most of these alliances, they'll evict somebody purposely because rifts have formed, individual needs are put above the majority alliances and personal relationships with other players get in the way. But Maggie managed to hold them together even when they couldn't stand each other. She is a fantastic strategist and social player.

I posted this on Peridiam's video covering the winners' journeys, but I want to point out two things about Maggie's game. An extremely brilliant move she made was during the Final 6 round. Maggie never intended to use the veto on Ivette or Beau and have April nominated and evicted. With only her, Janelle, and April voting, she was obviously voting to evict Beau and thought that Janelle was voting to evict Ivette. This, in Maggie’s eyes, made April the deciding vote. She needed April to vote out Beau, which would be horrible for April’s game, and April knew that (April and Ivette HATED each other). So, she went over to April and emotionally destroyed her by lying and claiming she will use the veto on her, only for April to cry and literally beg Maggie not to, the reaction Maggie expected and wanted. With that, she acted like her not using the veto would be game suicide for her (in Maggie’s words, “choosing you because you’re my partner ensures my death,” when in fact didn’t, Maggie knew that and was acting). So when she didn’t use it, this made April feel indebted to Maggie, with April thinking Maggie sacrificed her game to spare her, so she voted for Beau in the end as repayment for Maggie saving her. What she didn’t know, though, was Janelle was also voting to evict Beau because Howie wanted to (because he saw him as a better competitor), which was valid because he was doing well in HoHs, coming in second in some and winning one the week Rachel got evicted. The reason I know Maggie was bluffing is because when she rallied the Friendship after she’d won Veto, she told Ivette and Beau that if she’d use it on them, April would go up, but still one of them would get evicted. That means that Maggie did intend to split up the duo and vote one of them out because let’s say she uses it on Ivette; Janelle wants to split up the pair so she’d vote out Beau, Ivette would vote out April, and with Maggie claiming one of them is going home regardless if April is on the block, Maggie will vote out Beau (a member of the last pair). Although this move is "weird" when looking at it initially, it is actually brilliant. While yes, having Ivette and Beau as a shield is good, Maggie gambled that next week it'd be 3 v 1, with the remaining Friendship members against Janelle. Yes, it was a risk, but a shield at this point in the game would not have mattered because it was only F5 where Maggie needed to be shielded. F4 noms did not matter (and she actually needed April and Ivette in the F4 to be safe), and having Ivette and Beau in the F3 with Maggie would have been disastrous. Another thing in the F6 round that Maggie wanted to do is talk to Howie to convince him to talk to Janelle to evict Beau over Ivette, but when Janelle wanted to be present, Maggie decided not to, as Janelle would figure out that keeping Ivette is for Maggie’s best interest, and Janelle did not want that. Plus, if she and Janelle were to evict Beau and April would vote to evict Ivette (because they did not get along), that would further pit April and Ivette against each other because April would’ve voted to evict her. That’s why Maggie wanted to talk to Howie after she’d won veto, but when Janelle intervened, she decided that April was her last option to vote out Beau (again not knowing Howie convinced Janelle to vote out Beau). I really wish she talked about her game in the Diary Room. She was so calculating. Lastly, in Final 5, Maggie threw the HoH to Ivette for 2 reasons. She wanted Ivette to feel indebted to her the same way April did the previous week, ensuring they’d both take her over the other if given the chance. Also, if she was HoH, and either one of Howie or Janelle wins veto (which Janelle did that week), that means she’d have to pick between April and Ivette, exposing her cards, which could be a great detriment.

The main problem I have with Maggie’s game is that she was very lucky with how that F4 round played out. Had Ivette not unexpectedly won the veto, she’s toast. April, unlike Ivette, was self-interested and would have thrown that HoH to Janelle in a heartbeat and win. Even in a Maggie-April F2, I think April wins being the most palatable player left to sov6 and with the James backdoor under her belt.
