Wow....All I can say. You have opened my eyes up to a new world. I've been simple minded for way to long by staying with flower only. This plant has brought a quality of life to me that I was sure I would never see. I am so thankful for cannibis. Thank you seriously. I am in mode one as of now. Collocation of data and know how, and I'm on my way to extracting. GREAT vids.

I've done countless testing on hydrocarbon extractions and the ppms left over are not in a range to fail testing these tests were done with oil made for a toddler with severe siezures point is when you use hydrocarbons they don't get trapped like ethanol because the boiling point is so low :) happy extracting

Any chance you could make a more in depth video on the water aspirator ? Where it hooks up to the rotary evaporator? What the two lines coming from it do. One pushes water the other is a return? How does it pull a vacuum if both lines are hook up to the coil. Do u have to pull a vacuum than put it on the coil. Does the rotary evaporator hold the vacuum once u draw one or do u have to constantly pull a vacuum or add vacuum now and than?
@shawn80j6 жыл бұрын
Got mine today. Two ports on the front are both vacuum ports. Theres two ports on the back. One delivers water the other receives water back to the res. You do have to keep running it the whole time your distilling. Only to keep your coil chilled. I feel like its expensive for what it is. About 550 shipped to your door. But it is better quality than i expected and works better than i thought it would.

Hi everyone, alternative medicine researcher here . I am putting pristine extract and when I’m distilling my product darkens a lot, I was doing 30C. I am working on some medicine research and was wondering if the RPMs on rotovap affect quality I’m using a 1402 Welch.
@Billy0112 жыл бұрын
I think you need to be colder temps during extraction or to winterize after extracting. Maybe try dry ice.

@fregrowli5 жыл бұрын
I have never decarbbed before I extract. Ever.

@@fregrowli thank you for the quick reply, I love all your videos. Is there a reason why outside of quicker thermal decomposition?
@fregrowli5 жыл бұрын
@@aljoejoe1 decarboxylation kills all of the terpenes. Not a problem of you are going just for distillate, but I basically never do at this point.

Can you recover the terpenes if you destillate the carbs with good old fashion distinctions process, with the copper wire , kindof like the moonshiners did it?

can this setup be used to make distillate ?

It's part of it. While there areultiple options, the steps after this may include a short path distillation package.

Can you do this with winterize rosin? Will my rosin oil remain liquid after the rotoray evaporator extract the ethanol, so I can still vape it? Or will it dry up back into rosin/shatter?
@fregrowli6 жыл бұрын
I suppose you could. It only stays as liquid as as much a) solvent is in it, and b) terpenes are in it. Those are the two viscous portions. If you rotovap (or purge) the ethanol off, it will become less viscous, but you don't really want to be vaping ethanol.
@johnnyxxxxxx65066 жыл бұрын
I am thinking about getting the same one you have from best value vacs. If I was to rotovap all the alcohol out. Do you think it would be viscous enough to vape or would I need to add terpenes? Thank you for your time and making this video. I found it every helpful.
@generalstuffreligion2ndcha4535 жыл бұрын
what if i decarb before winterize. may it save the terps?
@rvgold83015 жыл бұрын
No... when you decarb you loose terps no matter if is before and is better after, to remove all the ethanol.
