Terrible policing this. 2 cars quickly despatched for a non crime. Since when were the police to get involved with an issue because ‘They are under the impression’ and ‘If they say it is not allowed it is not allowed”. Then they make threats? “ If we have to come back it may be different”. Outrageous. Send these two back to police school. As to that security guard- “I don’t give you permission to film me” as he stands there with a bodycam on filming people on the public street. 🤦‍♂️

They found him out through things like DJI Aeroscope as he was flying near to RAF Coningsby. Most airports have these things that pick up on the radio signals from drones and can track the drones and controllers as soon as it is turned on. They can pick up signals up to 50km and they get altitude and position of the drone as well as the serial numbers from drone and controller. They also get the controllers location. Most big airports in the UK will have aeroscope or another make that does the same thing.

If the airspace is not restricted by the CAA and the area you are flying over is not congested i.e. there is not a game actually playing with spectators in the stadium then you can take off from public land and fly over the stadium in VLOS under 400' AGL as the drone is
