As a kid in Uganda, I had Ethiopian neighbours and every Sunday, their daughter would play with us while she had a plastic bag and scarf tied over her head. We were so confused as to why until she told us her mum was conditioning her hair with "butter" and at that time I had never heard of such a thing. It made her hair look AMAZING!
