The key to growing long hair is to leave it alone. Protect the ends AND drink plenty of water. Some hair grows faster than others but all hair grows. Protect protect protect.

My hair has grown so many inches in this quarantine. I introduced pre-poo into my hair routine, hot cap when deep conditioning, cooler water during my rinse off, and a brush for curly hair rather than wide tooth combs. I started detangling with a leave-in conditioner on top of my deep conditioner, and oil my scalp every other day with my hair in braids. These are the best results for me to grow lots of inches. Waist-length as well now and 1 year ago my hair was above bra strap after getting a cut :P

I don't think low porosity hair can use too much protein treatment
@BellaMecia
@BellaMecia 3 жыл бұрын
Agreed, protein treatments can increase the risk of hair breakage since it tends to pull moisture out of the hair, so I would opt for the aloe vera avocado mask, pre-poo treatments without coconut oil and I heard that, "yes to cucumber volumizing conditioner" which is an aloe vera based glycerin conditioner is very good for low porosity hair...I can make a separate video on this topic if you want. But otherwise hope this was helpful. Also you shouldn't use protein treatments back to back maybe like once every 3-4 months.

I am LoPo and I cannot over use any protein treatment in my hair. It will make it brittle and breakage will be unreal. I do a Rice Water dip once a month to month and a half. Other than that I use Fenugreek Oil every 2 days with a deep scalp massage and a rotation of JBCO, Briogeo, and Shea products every 2-3 weeks. Other than that I leave my hair alone. Put a protective style on it and just let it be.

I didn't even press my hair in between getting it professionally done, I let the stylist do it. My hair does not like being straight for months on end. I get my ends clipped every 2- 3 months but experiencing much shedding! Now I'm focused on strengthening my hair.

Hair grows an average of 6 inches per year. So after 2 years it's reasonable to have 12 in of hair growth. There's no product that make your hair grow faster. You must simply protect your ends and hair from breaking. I'm going to try some of these products she's mentioned. They've obviously contributed to her hair health.

Where did you get this information from? I’ve found that my hair usually grows 1-1.5 inches per month if I’m properly taking care of it, and I usually retain 2-3 inches per quarter after trimming. While I do cycle on and off biotin and collagen protein supplements, 6 inches per year still seems on the very low side, unless that’s taking into account aggressive trimming (I usually go for more of a “dusting” approach).

Your hair is beautiful, thanks for the information. I don't use Aphogee products it doesn't work for me. Tried it and it caused damage. Coconut is a plus. I BELIEVE we all have different hair therefore we can try some products. I am aware hair needs consistency. There are so many products on the market that doesn't mean that they all work. I encourage if it is growing using blue magic or any of your original hair products that you have been using for years don't stop. I experimented and my hair suffered eventually. Now personally speaking the most important thing apart from what I eat and drink is t deep conditioning using moisturising conditioner and protein conditioner without fail each time I wash my hair because whenever I leave that small details out my hair reminds me.

My favorite new deep conditioner is Aunt Jackie's Fix my hair Intensive Repair Conditioning Masque (flaxseed recipes) I love it and add Wild growth oil..rosemary oil..almond oil and peppermint to it. Its very close to the mayo conditioner.

Yes! My sister's hair grew about 5 or 6 inches while she was pregnant and it was so much thicker!

Lmao at prenatals...its hormones ! Literally hormones in the body that tell the body to grow excess hair everywhere lol, without breakage.. it's researchable. Those same hormones can also lead to postpartum hairshed no matter the remedy. Also can we admit diet, environmental factors, genetics also play a crucial role. My profile pic is how my hair has always been even after I cut it, it grows within months right back always has.

@@MissNamaSlay prenatal vitamins help too. My grandmother crushes them up into a powder & put them in my shampoo/conditioner when I finished chemotherapy & my hair has really grown.

Hi - first time here , been meaning to try Olapex for years! I think I could like that mayo product too! I could never be bothered with pre-poo treatments and so many lately have said they are so good. So will start this week - anything to help my lo porosity stuck at 12in hair!

What about Cardi b hair mask? I don't have time for deep condition, I might just try the African method with cebe powder it worked for them.
