Minecraft survival. Today we make the final big push to get the Nexus working properly and deal with some of the technical problems that have accumulated over the 100's of hours I have spent building the thing.

Take a bow, Etho. The Nexus is perhaps the most enviable creation ever made in survival. Never have you more deserved praise for your genius as a survival Minecrafter. I am unbelievably impressed. If Minecraft is an art, that thing is a bona fide masterpiece. Huge props.

Etho, I mentioned this the last time you worked on the nexus and now that I see that you're storing things like stone and dirt I felt the need to say it again: due to the fact that you're using a sorting system that doesn't have overflow protection the nexus will break once an item of one type totally fills up. It will break when for example the hopper that sorts out and picks up stone from the ice stream fills up to the max, when it fills up the comparator output will become higher which means that it will cross over to the other sorters and break them. Please Etho if you see this react in some way because I don't want all your hard work to go to waste. To fix this problem you could store items that you get a lot of (for example stone) somewhere else or you could (would be REALLY time consuming though) look at an item filter design by ImpulseSV and rebuild the sorting system. I really hope you see this. Thank you for making amazing videos and for putting so much work into them! =)

Etho, I swear, I'm really impressed by your determination. I honestly, believe that if other people tried their hand at a Nexus (even other Minecraft KZbinrs), less than 1% of them would finish it. I really hope you make a good living off of your channel, because very, very few KZbinrs put as much effort into there content as you do. When I make my millions, I'll be sure to send something your way for all the reliable content. :D And I don't mind if you don't post as regularly as you used to; I mean, how many other Minecraft KZbinrs even cut their footage? So many just let it roll and when 20 minutes is up, that's it, there's a video. It's like 5 minutes of good stuff for 150k views. But you have thousands of hours of building and crafting and planning that you aren't getting views on and being paid for because you don't want us to be bored with the grindy stuff. Techo Man +GoldenDiamond Canada is a big conuntry, so things probably differ a lot depending on where in Canada you live. I guess the best internet connections are available near the coast, while in areas deep inside the country it's many times slower.

Wolf480pl Its more by population. Places like Toronto, Montreal, vancouverget good internet but theres big gaps between highly populated areas. So we get neglected in the internet departement. Where I live the best you can get is 30 down 5 up, but its very expensive, so most go with the upgraded 20 down 1 up (second best).

GoldenDiamond It isn't supposed to be accurate or even probable, it's a saying. It's supposed to mean something extraordinaire (meaning extra ordinaire, as in not common) happened, in this case, something good. Killing two birds with one stone, two flies with one swat or even two rabbits with one staff blow are positive things for hunters (or in the case of the flies to anyone, I mean, who likes flies anyway?). That's my opinion on the origins of this saying, not actually accurate.

Well,in terms of server lag,i guess i didn't think of that,as for the time it takes..well most people work on their own projects and don't have much time ,not everyone in the server has the skill required for the nexus although most of them do also they have to work as a team otherwise everyone would work in their own ways and fail miserably when put together,also with all the water and ice working on a project like this without being able to easily back up every time someone screwed up would be a nightmare.Not to mention bug squashing and redesigning.

Great job with the nexus build, looks really good! :) In regard to the hexadecimal display, it actually reads left to right but the binary parts are right to left. Format -> Base 16 = Base 2 (Base 10) You currently have them like (when you swap the binary to read right to left): 01 = 0001 0000 (16) 5D = 1101 0101 (213) C4 = 0100 1100 (76) How hexadecimal is read: 01 = 0000 0001 (1) 5D = 0101 1101 (93) C4 = 1100 0100 (196) It's a tiny detail, but just wanted to clarify it. Keep up the awesome episodes! :D

Mrmogeli first of all i dont think its fixed. Well the bug is that it is 301 and not 300 but they kept that bug cause it was kinda funny XD when u watch a yt video you will watch from a server that is close to you. So multiple people watch on multiple server. The server synchronize (and add) their views from time to time. When a video gets alot of views in a short time, the server stops counting at 300 cause they know the number is most likely incorrect due to the view count on other servers. It will stay at 301+ until the server synchronizes the first time. so when someone claims unter 301 club, there are most likley more than a 1000 people out there who watched the video before him

Actually, if you use any type of add blocking system, Etho won't get any revenue, since the way he makes money on KZbin is by having adds on his channel. When people watch those adds, KZbin pays him (probably per view). So if you enjoy Etho's videos and want to support him, the best way is to not use Adblock.

I love Etho's "Let's Play Minecraft" series... I don't watch any of his others, so when he takes a two week break, so do I, and when that happens, my habits might change... other people might too... see where I'm going with this line of thought? Any-hoo, keep up the good work Etho! On another thought, about the Nexus, I have always thought that it was too much work and complexity for item retrieval. Plus, the items I want in extreme bulk, like cobble, are unable to be sorted within the de-spawn times allowing in the ice-flow system. (An item or single stack works fine, but if I dump two chests of full stacks into this system, more than half of it would not be picked up in the de-spawn time.) For this I have been working on my own solution, whereby stacked hopper mine carts serve as a buffer to "quick pick-up" items, and can give them up to a normal hopper sorting array at their own leisure, taking far longer than five minutes... This is a separate system from the normal item sorting arrays for regular drops such as mobs, and items not used or acquired in bulk. Items like cobble, smooth stone, sand, dirt, clays, or anything else I can collect in quantities of more than a couple chests full.

Etho, you wow me every video with the sheer amount of dedication you have put not only in this game but also in your channel, including your non-Minecraft videos. You are an inspiration for us all, especially for me. You were the first person that i ever watched play Minecraft, and to this day you are still my biggest inspiration, not only for Minecraft but also for KZbin and anything irl that I do. You have shaped KZbin in such a wonderful way that the effect will last for decades (heck even centuries!) from now. Keep up the awesome work with your channel.

Etho, in the second floor of the Nexus, there are these holes in the floor. You could build one of these slimeblock-piston things down below to get upstairs easylier.

After years and years, Etho now has a fully functional (and frankly legendary) storage facility. Momentous occasion. I wonder, could some clever usage of comparators allow the main control panel to query the current storage capacity? In other words, what if those indicator lights were a fullness progress bar for the currently selected item?

Mr. Slab, I have been a fan for a very long time but I haven't commented in quite a while. I realize that you have dozens of young fans, ;-) and so I usually leave the commentary to them. But today is special. Today you have completed the Nexus. An AMAZING achievement. I want to be sure to let you know that WE understand just what an achievement it is. This day cannot simply go by unnoticed. It is deserving of appreciation and thanks. In short, I have no doubt that you yourself are feeling a large amount of pride and accomplishment and I want you to know that it is certainly deserving. You SHOULD be proud and glad that it's done. As for the amount of content lately, conventional wisdom says that work and play usually suffers when one creates new friendships... How many episodes has it been, 20, 25? It feels like you have been working on the Nexus since the dawn of time. I also can't believe that it's done now. Congratulations, Etho, that was a huge project! And, imho, I don't find the "technical" episodes boring. It's really amazing when you see a cool invention - be it the Nexus, an automated farm or just a little dispencer thing - come to life. That's what Minecraft is all about - building, inventing, creating new things! So keep doing awesome projects like this.
