Uh oh... resources are getting low and we have a new ender chest storage system to fill up. Today we change things up a bit by dedicating an episode to resource gathering and the methods to it.

@freshviolets
@freshviolets 4 жыл бұрын
It sure does, and mostly I agree with them but his insistence on using TNT is a little annoying as someone who played only Bedrock edition for years. Bedrock had no creeper only farms (I'm not sure if it's been changed to allow them) so TNT is expensive in Bedrock. And with the villagers I feel like might've been a bit unfair considering that with villagers it's infinite and in one spot- though that of course is only decided by the player's preference, their farms, and world generation.
@CottidaeSEA

Etho- I showed my partner, who has just been playing minecraft again for a few months this video, and it blew his mind. We were lucky enough for it to be safe to share valentine's together. I'm happy I could share your video with him and make it part of our lovely evening. I love the idea of a riptide/ocean base- I think there are lots of unexplored concepts with the conduit block/structure that you could also break into using that concept. Maybe far, far, into the future you could make a "red" base, which would give you a color trifecta/primary color (if you're talking about additive color theory, at least) which would put a nice bow on things. Always love the content! -wren

It’s nice having a look at the part of the game that most KZbinrs leave out of their videos, and it’s a cool insight into the behind the scenes of your world. In terms of the "magnet enchant" I think that it is definitely something that could be integrated into the game well, and I agree it should be an enchantment as it fits more into the "magical" side of the game rather than the technical/redstone side of it (at least for me).

I think we would all love to see a new man cavern! I also think this episode really effectively communicated how much of an expert Etho is at Minecraft. We all already knew that he is, since we've all seen the super complex, detailed builds that he's made over the years. But most of us, when we play Minecraft, can't or just don't do those sorts of huge projects. We all do go around gathering things, though, and we have all spent time staring at inventory screens moving stuff around between chests, each of us with our own little methods of how we do things. But a video like this shows us all so many minute details about how you can play Minecraft and use it's most fundamental mechanics, like how to fill a chest, and it takes someone like Etho, and his thousands of hours of Minecraft, to show us how to do it.

My man Etho, A Nebris-Mindcrack-Season-3-esque huuuuuge cave/castle base somewhere out in the amplified going all the way to bedrock would be just insane. The base would be focused on layers of platforms spanning all 256 blocks, with magnificent open sections and floors to zip around and fall through with riptide. Redstone projects are always interesting and a staple to an Etho base, but since we all see how much your design style has exponentiated, this base would be a nice playground to try pure aesthetics. Each "layer" could have spots on all four sides to put gizmos and decorations, with of course an open chute in the center to fly/fall through and see the whole base in one pass. No extensive tour necessary! Obviously it would take a lot of work and sidetracking to complete, but everyone needs a canvas to just let their creativity flow from time to time, while also exploring all the fun new cave stuff. Take it or leave it, we love ya Etho!

I enjoyed this episode! Seeing some of the “behind the scenes” work was neat and it makes the infrastructure of your ancient world even more impressive. I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing more episodes like this now and then. I really appreciate the tips and tricks you mention throughout the episodes because I started watching your videos years ago but only very recently started playing Minecraft in earnest. So Hey Etho, do you have any advice for things that are necessary to have available or build in every new world? Eg. farms, resources, mobs, etc.?

I am increasingly realising that what makes this world so special is both why it needs to keep being here and why I would also love an entirely fresh minecraft world. This world is like the ship of theseus. There have been so many updated that it is immensely old and magical for it an outlier in the new world. I think even a short series of Etho exploring an entirely new vanilla seed fresh in the new terrain gen would be cool. A nice contrast to the magic of this beast. There's also the fact that new minecraft worlds tend to need less prep since you aren't going to start building mega structures that need stacks and stacks of resources from day one. That way Etho could quietly collect resources for his main series while putting out the new vanilla series to tide people over - and stop him getting bored of collecting so many resources off screen. Just an idea and I don't expect he'll try it but it would be neat. I'm just glad Etho is still doing this.

Longterm suggestion: since you clearly have learned a lot about colour theory and interior design through your Hermitcraft S7 base, maybe it's time to do some renovating in the mancave? It's kinda looking a little 1.8 in comparison :D Also, have you considered maybe going into MCEdit and deleting a bunch of chunks in your world that you may have loaded before but never built on? in order to get the new biomes etc closer to home? I am sure your community would be happy to help you identify all chunks that need to be preserved by checking your world download
