Hi Lee Great video and review of the new FRSKY X18 radio. I have to admit that I really like the new looks of the new line of radio's. I just looked at the price and it's really good. I also look at the X9 and I paid more for my used X9D. I really like the feel of the new radio over the older one, much better feel. Thanks for the video and information.

This is exactly what I did to bind my X20 with my whoops. Works like a charm. This is why I can't understand the drama that a lot of people made about FrSky going the access way. You only need a cheap module with the correct firmware to use D8 :-)

It's still a minefield! I ordered an FRSKY X18 TX with an IRangeX IRX4 lite module (fully supported, apparently) so that I could still use all of my old FrSKY, SFHSS and DSM2 receivers. The combo was supplied with all s/w updated to latest release, LUA script installed and all 'Ready to go' except...I couldn't bind anything! I could see all of the different module protocols in the X18 gui, but nothing would bind. All of the receivers work just fine with my two old transmitters, but the X18 is currently an expensive doorstop. So, be VERY careful, as the only option I seem to have is to send the combo back to the supplier for a refund.

Hi Lee. got a question here... binding the external XJT with D8rii plus recievers, in an Ethos radio (ISRM updated X10, to be precise), how does the telemetry work? Does it go through the transmitter voice files or remains with the XJT module's built-in beeping system?

Hello, congratulations for your videos. I need help if you can explain me, can i use FrSky G-RX6 ACCESS 6, oon the Taranis Plus X9D. Thanks
@Painless3602 жыл бұрын
I'm not an expert in ACCESS. If the radio has ACCESS listed as an available option and the firmware is up to date then I cannot see why it it wouldn't work... Best of luck

This is great and just may get me to upgrade from my Taranis with V1 JST. Now what does it take to get models built in OpenTx V2.0.0.9 to this new Horus. Is it a simple copy of the model file or something more elaborate? Thanks.
@Painless360 Жыл бұрын
I am not aware of a way to do that. If you figure it out, please let me know.
@zoof1 Жыл бұрын
So are you then rebuilding each of your old models from scratch to go to get them to the new radio?
@Painless360 Жыл бұрын
No, I'm only adding new models when I fancy putting them on this radio. The lack of an easy converter from OpenTX and Spektrum is a big oversight and they hadn't got one when I was asking them about it back in Autumn last year.. Maybe they have one now.. Best of luck!

Pretty interesting indeed, Lee! Thanks for the tutorial! 😃 But those radios aren't compatible with 4 in 1 modules? That would clearly help a lot. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Hi Lee, will other multi-protocol modules work with this radio?

I've not tested it yet but support is In ETHOS... If I can get a module to try I'll test it and make a video...

Video is good and convincing me not to ever but ever to return to frsky again. Let them stick their firmwares updates somewhere - maybe it will help. I am having more than 30 of their ACCST compatible receivers and I feel cheated. Their "mambo-jumbo" to make something backward compatible is just unfair. Never again! Only Radiomaster! Ciao!
@Painless3602 жыл бұрын
I know a lot of pilots feel the same as you. I think that FrSky underestimate how deep that feeling runs in large segments of the community..
@meljones70662 жыл бұрын
Great video, I like you have a big investment in ACCST V1 receivers, they are all LBT, so would I need to reflash them to be able to use this module as you have described?
@Painless3602 жыл бұрын
Yes, unless they add the LBT FW to the site as mentioned..
@UncleFesterUK2 жыл бұрын
I test bound all my v2 receiver's and all worked first time the v1 receiver's Don't work as these were designed for the modules that fitted in futaba an Jr radios in the early days before the first Frsky radio came out.

Been looking forward to this. Thanks Lee. So being I’m in Europe and have LBGTQ firmware on my X20S and all my ACCESS V1 Frsky receivers, will this work? Will have a proper look when I get in from work. Cheers. 👍
@Painless3602 жыл бұрын
This appears to be only FCC not LBT yet. I've asked FrSky to add that to the listing too.
@arlemooldijk15952 жыл бұрын
It's kind of strange that there is no v2.1 LBT firmware for this XJTLite module because it exists for the bigger XJT module. The reason FrSky gives for lack of v2.1 LBT support is just BS. BTW, XJT modules flashed with ACCST v2.1 should still have D8 and LR9. I use my X9D+ with ACCST LBT v2.1 and can still use D8 receivers with it (no extra module needed in this case).
@Painless3602 жыл бұрын
I'm pleased to see them looking at stuff like this (and CRSF support for modules) but they do move a little more slowly than I'd like.
@arlemooldijk15952 жыл бұрын
@@Painless360 I'm happy to see them finally moving in that direction as it makes their stuff more interesting for people already using MPM and other modules with their previous radio's. But yes, it's not going very fast.
@Painless3602 жыл бұрын
I honestly think that they would have preferred to keep people locked into a propriety system that they control completely. Great to see them making moves to support 3rd parties and systems as well as their own legacy kit. It is why a lot of us loved them back in the day after all...
