I think the backup shulker chamber in doc’s is the best solution. I love how Etho tries to make completely unique farms but sometimes copying an idea here and there is just the best way to go. For example, Ethos hopper clock is a standard must know piece of redstone at this point even though we’re technically copying Etho. It’d be crazy to try and invent something else for the job when it works so perfectly. We don’t all need to reinvent the wheel.

For the longest time I've seen your KZbin profile picture to be one of your earliest contraptions with 'etho' on the front, infact I think since I started watching you in 2012, it hasn't changed. That was an amazing episode. I did not know you could farm Shulkers that way. And I found it great how you explained the idea, showed your experiments and developed the farm. It was also a bit different as you usually had more than one focus in an episode.

To prevent the shulker from hurting itself when the farm is off, but it still has agro, you might be able to close off the 2 block tunnel that the shulker uses to shoot itself when you turn off the farm, either by using a trapdoor or fence gate. Blocking the bullet path is a neat idea! Sadly i'm pretty sure lowering the platform ceiling won't work. They'll only teleport to spots where they can open their shell, so any block with collision above the platform will block tekeports.

oh no.... I've been watching the series from the beginning again (on ep 155 now) and the energy is so different jumping back to a new video. I honestly never noticed before because I've been watching for so long and it was gradual, but dang.

If you make parallel farm cells, could you get away with fewer potions? The shulkers could restock each other rather than needing to feed it health potions.

@@beautifulnova6088 Yeah I don't think shulkers restocking each other without potions would work, though having two cells next to each other would mean 2x80% = 160% total spawn rate, and on the odd chance a shulker does die despite the healing system, it could be restocked by the other.

Keep a bunch of the "spent" shulkers in a holding cell, so you can refill if a shulker fails to dublicate. That way you don't need the brewing system.
