Long episode... lots happens. I talk about some plans for the season. We build a quick dispensing station for our consumables. Big deals happen at the shopping district. We check out our flower farms and basalt generator.
I work on the pathing from our base that goes towards Tango's. We play Zedaph's drip stone mini-game and Bdub's scaffolding challenge. We upgrade our glass shops and look into our plans for the Frog Light shop. I also show off my completely normal and sane desktop set up.

Long story short Mumbo wanted vindication after years if being known as a "thumb shifter" and learning the other hermits are also weirdos. So his most recent episode is him rounding up all the weirdos, having them explain themselves, and then rank themselves by who is the most weird. Its definitely a must watch, its basically just 10 hermits bantering for the entire episode.

Etho, for your basalt farm (and other cobble farms), it might help to use some observers detecting a separate bit of falling lava, and use that as your "clock". Lava always flows at the same rate (every X ticks), and this would ensure you always get a pulse right when lava flows. Add an appropriate delay, and you can ensure the pistons in a cobble farm always fire X ticks after the lava flows and converts to stone/basalt/etc. I did this for a moss farm in a Vault Hunters playthrough, along with an extra clock to reset the falling lava if the system got messed up, and it was very robust. I just used an empty column with a lava source block at the top, observers at different heights to detect the falling lava, and a piston that fires every so often to reset the falling lava (to keep generating pulses).

Etho! I love your 50 minute episodes, you give us every game-aspect we need; building, detailing, farms, games, interactions&deals and stats! so much inspiration and fun. ⭐ ps. please tell bdubs that SHIFT + SPACE + PLACE for scaffolding really works. and ofcourse the pro that you can eat while climbing scaffolding 😎

He was being nice to Iskall, someone has to. Also the absolute comedy of asking Iskall for a diamond to buy rockets. And then in Iskall's video he immediately pulls out his wallet and repays him and says he didn't want to take out his wallet.

I feel like the Etho Lore setup made peoples brain explode because it was a new piece of information, not because its actually a weird way to play, whereas pressing shift with your thumb is and always will be unhinged 😂

How is using your thumb for shift considered weird? I can't understand how people use their pinky fingers, it's the most uncomfortable way of using the shift key.

Because moving your pinky from the A key to the left shift key is a distance of 1-2 keys (depending on how you count them). Moving your thumb from the spacebar to the shift key requires moving your thumb from the centre of the keyboard to the left side of where your left hand should be. It is, at minimum, a distance of 3 keys. Using your thumb for shift puts the image in my mind of a backwards hand... like your left hand is actually your right hand, your left thumb is on the left side of your left hand... rather than the right.@@j_edwards6075

@@j_edwards6075 open palm on your keyboard, Middle finger for W-S Ring finger for A-Q-Z, index for D-E-F etc Naturally, your thumb rests on spacebar, and your pinky should comfortably reach shift, CTRL can be a little uncomfortable with extended use but its no big deal. You’d have to uncomfortably tunnel your thumb below your palm to reach back to shift, which is otherwordly, but I know mumbo is gigantic so his hands probably reach more comfortably like that.

@@mauroghen That's insane lol. Never heard of someone using anything other than their index finger for W, A, S, D. In the circumstance that I need to use both space bar and shift, where my thumb is typically always used for shifting, in this case I use it for the space bar while I use my middle finger for shift that way I can still use my index finger for whatever other button I need to. I must have gigantic hands as well lol

@@j_edwards6075 My 'home keys' are left pinky on shift (or control), ring finger on A, middle finger on W, index on D and thumb on space bar. Index finger never touches W, A, S or Q, but it does E, R, F, V, C, X and Z when needed. How do you do all of W, A, S and D with just your index finger when sometimes you need to press two of them at once?

The front of Etho's desk still has a barcode on it, likely implying it was probably bought used from an office/school or was a display model at an office supply store. Either way, he no doubt got it for a steal! GOTTA respect a man with an eye for a deal (even if he spends 400 diamonds on a lifetime supply of shulkers)!
