After a flight time of 7 hours 35 minutes from Brisbane, we finally landed in Singapore Changi Airport at 5.55 p.m., just before the clock struck 6. We then docked on to Gate No. E26 for our arrival gate. The plane would have a layover of approximately 1 hour 45 minutes before heading back to Abu Dhabi later that evening.
As soon as we docked on to Gate No. E26, we went to the passport immigration and baggage claiming area to claim our check-in baggage. My brother and I took the MaxiCab home, while my parents drove the car back, due to the heavy baggage.
In conclusion, Etihad Airways is an airline of excellent quality. Their Pearl Business Class seats were indeed like First Class. Previously, when my mum went to Taiwan on a business trip, she flew with Singapore Airlines in the New Regional Business Class.
She strongly feels that Singapore Airlines should phase out all regional Business Class seats, and replace them with seats that are of somewhat similar design to Etihad Airways' long-haul Pearl Business Class product, even for regional aircraft and routes. I'm just saying this because if they do this, customers can receive even more luxury and comfort on regional routes such as Dubai, Hong Kong and Taipei.
If Singapore Airlines designs new Business Class seats like the ones found on Etihad Airways' long-haul fleet, the Airbus A330-300, Boeing 777-200 and Boeing 777-300 aircraft can feature the new seats.
Also, I find Etihad Airways to be MUCH BETTER than Qatar Airways. However, I can't say that Australia was very good. But thanks to Etihad, they made up for it.
