I installed this Companion system in my 86 squarebody Chevy Dually last night and it went perfect, just like the video. The corrugation ribs were spaced so that the plastic skids were centered almost exactly in the slotted holes so I was very happy about that. I used the highest and reward biased settings as my old truck is a little lower that the new ones. So happy I had installed the turnover ball under the bed last year for "goosenecking", so now I have tons of versatility. I also got the $38 lifting lug option as well so once its all assembled I can take in out in one piece with a rope and pole or engine cherry picker.

The center draw down bolt says 60ft lbs torqued no lube. I went 60lbs with verified correct torque wrench and it bent the lock pin in the frame hitch. I had to adjust down to 45 lbs after I straightened the pin back out.

Mark is it possible the lock pin was not 100% engaged thru the sleeve around the hole? Just wondering what you've found out. Thanks.

Am I missing some procedure here? At 8:00 minutes, he torques the side bolts "BEFORE" the top bolt? Seems counter-intuitive; wouldn't you want to draw the hitch into the gooseneck before locking in the side plate bolts? Sam Memollo did the same thing and I thought it was back-asswards.

hi. great video. one question, the pdf manual says 3/4" and 7/16" socket but you mentioned metric, do you know which it is??
@etrailer3 жыл бұрын
You will need a 3/4" socket and a 7/16" socket or wrench. You can also use a comparable metric size if you do not have a standard size that you need. www.etrailer.com/Fifth-Wheel-Hitch/B-and-W/BWRVK3500-5W.html

Very informative video. Sorry for this comment but it would have given me a better feeling had the truck bed been cleared of all of the rubbish prior to filming the video. It would only have taken 5 minutes. It looked pretty trashy and turned me off just like taking my truck to be serviced by a garage that looked trashy would turn me away.

That's a good point. we'll have your comment forwarded to our video production folks!

That long bolt that goes in top I didn't get a nut to go on it what does it screw too plz
@etrailer Жыл бұрын
The long bolt will thread into the top of the shank that goes into the gooseneck connection. When you tighten this bolt it will snug up on the hitch pin on your gooseneck. www.etrailer.com/Fifth-Wheel-Hitch/B-and-W/BWRVK3500-5W.html

No locking nuts for the shank to hitch?

The locking plate is designed to stop the bolt from spinning loose. www.etrailer.com/Fifth-Wheel-Hitch/B-and-W/BWRVK3500-5W.html
