I have a vintage items shop and very few could be shipped for under $6. I live on the East Coast and the majority of my sales go to the West Coast. I can't stay with Etsy much longer as they continue to find more "DINGS" for sellers! I am already penalized for not offering free shipping - can't do that when each item different going to different destinations. They take all the joy out of being a shop owner.

No one can sell on Etsy unless you submit to all their threats. Pathetic

If they make this kind of change to Canadian Sellers. I'm gone.

Thanks for going over all this. It seems like every time I think I'll finally open my shop, everything changes! 😮💨 I'm so on the fence about it.

Don't let that stop you! Things will always be changing and evolving in business - just dive in and you'll figure it out as you go :)

It’ll never be the perfect time, just go for it! If it doesn’t work out, at least you tried. ❤ Good luck!

I will be leaving Etsy because of this!! There is no way that I could possibly ship my stuff for under $6.00. if I incorporate that into the price of my item nobody is going to buy my stuff. They're going to look at the high cost of my item and skip me anyway. Etsy is shooting itself in the foot with this move. I will be switching my stuff to eBay and Mercari because of this. They are killing the sellers.

I use calculated shipping so it doesn't affect me. However, as a test I listed some high value, high shipping cost items on eBay and I already sold some items on eBay. These were items that were sittin on Etsy with very low visibility. Eventhough eBay fees are higher, I'm starting to cross- post on other platforms.

It’s horrible. It costs me $12-$15 for every item I have listed so far. So they expect me to eat that cost? Nope. I’ll have to move that cost over to the base price. I’ll probably include it all there and and have free shipping.

I think a lot of people will have to do this - and it will be challenging for those with lower-priced products.

@@JessVanDen - my shipping is set by the POD supplier so I can't change that, all I can do is increase my selling price by $1 to cover it.

What if people are making large wooden or metal projects? So stupid.

Would this affect me if I am based in Canada but use a US based printing company that ships from the US?

I have heavy mugs. It's insane what they're doing. Guess I'm hiking up my prices.

Decrease shipping charge . As if their fees are not high enough already with all the offsite adds taking 12% of all my sales . I refuse to decrease my shopping cost 🤷🏻♀️

Same here, don't like it either.

What if you offer free shipping on over $35 purchase? Can someone please help
@lindagyetvay5308Ай бұрын
What person with a half a brain doesn't know that "free shipping" means the base price includes the shipping fee? Do we really believe that retailers can afford to absorb that cost, or would? Apparently some of us do 🙄
