Hello! I was born in Belozersk (called Beloozero until XVIII) and I lived there for 17 years. It is one of the oldest cities in history of Russia, brother of Rurik came there in 862. We are proud that we took a significant part in the decisive battles with the Horde and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth I am very glad that such a video has appeared on KZbin. Before that, I thought it was unreal to play for Beloozero! Thank you very much!

@@leopoldzoupounidis571 You're almost right. It really means White Lake. This name is translation from Vepsian "Vaugedjärv" (Finnic branch of the Uralic languages). The color of the water turned white in bad weather due to the white clay at the bottom It is spelled Белоозеро. And it is pronounced with stress on the third syllable (second O)

The rule is: we take the root from the first word (Бел) and connect it with the second word via unstressed vowel "е" or "о". So we have Bel-o-Ozero (Бел-о-Озеро) in result. The spelling is different. We dont have such things like "oo" makes long "u". So both "o" sounds like "o". The first one is quiet and sounds almost like "a", the second one is stressed. So it should be pronounsed like белаОзеро.

@The Red Hawk You're great at this game, and I have only one trick to teach you. When devving for institutions, find 3 flatland/farmland provinces ADJACENT to each other to dev. The first one for Renaissance, the second for Colonialism, the third for Printing press. This will speed up spread immensely because high dev provinces acquire institutions from adjacent provinces insanely fast. If you have (roughly) 120 dev concentrated like this, in most campaigns it will be over the 10% limit you need to embrace really quick. In your game, it could be something like the Mologa / Yaroslav / Rostov trio of provinces. In my Mamluk game (tnx for the no CB Byz tip by the way

After watching your video I tried to get independence as Beloozero, had dozens of tries to get Poland to support me together with Denmark. I then noticed in this run that Muscovy didn't start the usual war with Novgorod but instead went for Tver, which was weird, seeing the last 20 times he did. So I investigated and found out Muscovy's rules was Careful! I then quickly switched my diplomats to Novgorod and after the war ended, Kazan ended up rivalling Muscovy as well. A diplo rep advisor and hiring the free company made them both support me and I instantly triggered the war. Had a couple of good battles, stackwiped smaller stacks and Ryazan got declared on by Great Horde. All this contributed to probably the most unexpected and early independence, the year is 1453 and I have a warscore of 85%. Thanks for all your guides and video's, love to watch em and they give me inspiration for what to do in the game!

Independence wars can be a nightmare, when you have to rely on the AI to win the war for you, especially in the latest patch, where the AI loves building forts. I almost punched by screen when I saw Castile walk away from a half-sieged down fort like 3 times in a row.

You should see what muscowy can do in 1.33 update ..it got released today and oh man....they start building forts like crazy everywhere :)) I had a game as Tver where i did the Kinalayer achievement and they had like 6 or 7 forts at some point (before i took their capital in the first war, kf course). AI really got buffed in the new patch. Playing in that region really is interesting.

Well, I think it's not as bleak in this situation in case of continuing. Denmark hasn't run that far away, so maybe getting an ally in Europe would help with crushing them and taking over Finland. Could try to vassalize Pskov and feed them former LO lands. Kazan certainly can be fought against and crushed. Take Perm as your vassal and then feed them back their cores. With all that done could try and snake your way into Siberia and at some point challenge Poland. This one would be the hardest though, but not impossible.
