A strat for taking the Java islands super early: fabricate claim on Sunda > declare war as soon as possible. Usually they have no allies and Majapahit will hate them. Once at war take all they provinces as soon as possible because Majapahit will declare war soon as well. Once Sunda is at war with Majapahit, take most of Sunda's provinces besides one and vassalize them. Now you are at war with Majapahit and can call in your allies to help. Boom Java islands.

@angryman132
@angryman132 5 жыл бұрын
What makes Borneo so good?
@filipfenix
@filipfenix 5 жыл бұрын
@@angryman132 A couple of things , yet the early game opening is somewhat the same. You start with the best Sultan in the region, that helps if you push for early renaissance. You are extremely protected from all sides. Kuntai is an easy year one take, tho most of the time I just take Kuntai's capital and integrate the rest. Vassals have standing armies that do all sorts of mischiefs and sometimes win wars. Also Vassal fleets are a turning point early game. And whoever controls the sea, controls the spice. You can start working on the Philippines as you have sea tile access to them, this will help to implode China early in the game. Burnei's power structure is the Mandala System, which basically provides 100% bonus to the vassal force limit contribution. The opening tech should be Influence and then you can Expansion and Exploration, as I personally don't like to go in debt. I would Ally - Siak, and leave Malacca, Pasai and the rest to develop provinces, altho Palembang tends to raid all the coasts , so they are a better ally. This will force Pasai and Malacca into an alliance and no one will spin out of control. Also, I focus on who allies who, for distant nations I can't Fabricate on. I almost never get any Rebel Factions, but this opening might take a bit more time. And again, I can not stress this enough, Who ever controls the sea, controls the spice. Watchout for early wars against 3 or 4 nations alliances, as they can combine their flees, and even 1 province nations can contribute substantial fleets. Malacca and Indonesia provide a perfect place to learn the game, how sea battles and army transport works. Also Natives tend to be extremely aggressive, so I would consider not transporting less than 5-6 regiments to uncolonised tiles, early game. By the early 1500 you should be showing on the Great powers world ledger. Only issue I have is, as of Golden Century, the technological spread and how easy you can lag behind outside europe. p.s. Don't forget to select the Propagate Religion Trading policy once you reach 50% trade power in any trade node. This might spawn a Religions Center to do all the work for you. Next stop - Bengal.

I played as Majapahit and formed Malaya, this is my campaign so far (I started this campaign a few month ago so I might miss some things): 1. I conquered Sunda 2. Allied Butan (I called them Button) and conquered & vassalized Makassar (which had annexed the nation above it.) I later annexed Makassar and vassalized then annexed Butan 3. Got Expansion Ideas (mistake on my part, I probably should have gone exploration as I cannot see Papua or Australia) and began to colonize the spice islands and conquer Tidore and the other nation *It is crucial to colonize as much as you can before the Europeans arrive to avoid costly wars against them 4. Took over all of Borneo (had to colonize to fabricate claims on Brunei) and along the way I vassalized some of their Filipino allies (including Maguindanao and the nation next to him. Tondo had taken over Madyas). Allied Vijiyanagar who had taken all of southern India. 5. I finally switched my attention to Sumatra. I was allied to Pasai which had taken much of northern Sumatra. I then conquered Palembang and began to plan against Malacca who had Central Sumatra and the Malay penninsula and was my main rival. 6. Took down Malacca and snagged its territory in Sumatra, leaving them on the Malay penninsula. Next I broke my alliance with Pasai as they were already angry with me because I took over the territory they wanted. Invaded Pasai, vassalized them, eventually annexed them (they were at -100 and kept going down because I had pirated them, so I had to stop pirating the malacca trade node for about 2 years) 7. Finally formed Malaya, conquered the Malay Penninsula easily, diplomatically vassalized Cebu, and began to set my sights on the Philippines and Siam. 8. I annexed the nation next to Maguindanao and gave their province to Maguindanao. Then I colonized next to Tondo and declared war. I full annexed them and gave all the provinces to Maguindanao, so now I had a huge vassal (not a march) and I would keep colonizing the Philippines and giving them land 9. Ming was still alive by this point (Manchu was delayed by Korea who had expanded a lot and then collapsed. Now manchu existed as a one province nation. Japan was split between Chiba(u?) And Amago which weren't really doing anything. Overall there where no major enemies to Ming except Ayathutta who was my rival.) Spain and Portugal also arrived and hated me because I had a gold mine. they only had 2 islands east of Sumatra since I had colonized everything in indonesia. I had 2 institutions and was behind on tech but they didnt bother because for some reason they had puny navies compared to mine as well as a smaller army so I knew they wouldn't attack unless I did. I allied Champa (who had been release few years ago) and declared war on Kedah (without champa) and full annexed 10. Declared war on Ayathutta and took some of their provinces to get me a border with Khmer. I vassalized champa diplomatically and then declared war on khmer and fed my second vassal. I now have my sights set on taking over Madagascar and using Vijiyanagar as a place to set my troops before sending them off to Africa. (So If I send a 23k stack it doesnt get destroyed by the Madagascar nation)

@WizoIstGott
@WizoIstGott 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheAjie91 Colonialism is actually really easy to spawn in asia if you focus on colonizing early. From The Spice Islands the easiest way is to go north with your colonies until you have a colony in kamtschatka or kurile islands. From there you should be able to explore alaska which counts as new world. Dont make big bunches of colonies early, snake your way north and remember you only need to explore the new world, not have a colony there. If you have this done only colonize provinces with 12 dev or costal centers of trade to maximize your chance of spawning it.

Currently playing as Tondo into Malaya and it is challenging but fun. Luzon's national ideas (which Tondo shares with Pangasinan and Maynila) are not bad IMO, but I chose to switch to Malayan ideas, and it turned out that the +1 naval combat bonus near owned coast was essential for wrecking the navies of Spain and France. Speaking of those two...the downside to being Malaya is that Spain and France want all my provinces and hated me the entire game. It was one war declaration from them after another, I had to keep defeating them in one war after another, and I couldn't find strong allies (eventually allied Ashikaga and a stronk Kilwa, which should help). Also trying to ally Great Britain, but they also want a piece of Nusantara's spices (albeit not as much as the Spaniards and French do). I might be able to ally the Timurids or the Shun Dynasty, but they don't seem to be friendly enough to reach ally level. As if having Spain and France declaring war on me every ten years wasn't enough, India was unified by mega Deccan and Delhi (allied to each other) and they hate me too.

Three of my attempts to do it like this ended badly because I am left behind in technology after the first expansion phase and even tho I am the strongest nation in the region I get destroyed by smaller nations. I declare war confidently and then everything goes to hell. I guess spawning Renaissance could help but I am in severe lack of monarch points since my republican tradition grows slowly. Vassals could help I guess since admin points are most rare to me, and manpower. Still, some advice would be nice.

You can also colonize the cape if its not been taken by european colonizers yet. Once you can exert enough trade power over the nodes in India it is crazy money.

There is misinformation on 3:28 because it has been known since the Berber traditions in god knows what update that raiding distance is calculated based on a distance of 3 sea tiles from a home port. Not by colonial distance.

Any tips for taking Malacca if they don't attack first? I'm afraid of Ming because I'm just a little guy.

If they have allies, attack them and call Malacca in as a cobeligerent, otherwise I guess hope for a mingsplosion which are more common now in 1.29

Why Palembang could become pirate Republic because in history, the predecessor of Palembang which is srivijaya exploit pirate to rule the melacca strait, even china need to pay tribute if their ship want to pass the strait or else fleet of pirates will ransack those ships, its actual historically accurate, good job to paradox

@rrai1999
@rrai1999 5 жыл бұрын
That one is easy, if you're already Manchu just become or stay a tributary of Ming while you expand, take any provinces from your neighbors that you can. Korea is a good expansion opportunity. Develop or expand until you are +300 development and then cancel tributary to Ming, they will explode shortly after and you can invade while they are being destroyed by rebels and take Beijing.

What is the best way to deal with Malaca if they are still a tributary of Ming?
@martinaustin6230
@martinaustin6230 5 жыл бұрын
Attack their allies and pick them off slowly. Or ally them and attack one of Ming's tributaries and get them to fight Ming. Ming won't be able to make them a tribute again because they don't border. Or just grow a pair and take on Ming. Realistically you can carpet siege of them down and get plenty of war score by the time Ming gets their. Or when Ming brings his troops over to Malacca block the strait, ferry your troops to Beijing carpet siege him quickly.

If you want to ignore Ming go for their allies. If you want to kill Ming: Colonize Taiwan, Ally Naval Powers, Build a lot of heavies. Ming will attack you with Unite China CB and move most of his army to Taiwan. Kill his Navy with your friends and trap his army in Taiwan, then go and destroy Ming.
