Welcome back viewers and friends for today's EUC VLOG in which I ride through Seattle talking about electric unicycle topics! I talk a little bit about the electric unicycle community including ‪@senseivegan‬ and ‪@roghaj‬ along with my thoughts about suspension wheels vs non suspension wheels while commuting on my way to an appointment.
Then later on, luckily enough as fate would have it, I came across another local rider named Brandon and we rode through South Lake Union and Belltown together towards Pike Place Market!!
Once again, thanks so much for watching, encouraging me and engaging with me. It's really meaningful to hear from you all!
Now, let's get to the ride!

Absolutely, I try to acknowledge them all with at least a wave. I get a little nervous when I see riders without any gear ngl. Plus, some people don't always want to interact so it's awesome when people are cool and inclusive.

Absolutely, I definitely appreciate when riders acknowledge me or are down to ride together for a bit. I used to ride with an awesome guy named Eric, but then he got hit by a car on his ex30... he sustained some nasty injuries and then I only saw him one time since then. What riders have you met up with in the wild?

Yea it's a ton of fun to have another rider especially because you know you have something in common (bravery, overcoming the learning curve, etc). That would be awesome if you came across another. If you can, try to make it to the third anniversary of Seattle Saturday Night Ride in several months from now -- it's gonna be huge!!

Yes ,power to weight is decreased with suspension , but if your wheel leaves the ground, you can't apply power or brake, so it's a wash as far as acceleration, but comfort and braking is greatly increased !
@PurpleRider
@PurpleRider 6 ай бұрын
Yes, absolutely right. The only difference would be if you find perfect, pristine pavement there's nothing like the feeling of non-suspension for that -- of course that's unrealistic most of the time.

Yea, I'm starting to have confidence in the abilities of the Extreme. If I pushed the Nikola+ this hard during acceleration, I'd cutout or overtorque super fast. It's crazy how powerful the wheels are getting. If you have a commander pro, you definitely have the power. Your limits are more mental than physical. Ride on 🤙

Why do you ride on the sidewalk and bike lanes instead of the road??
@PurpleRider
@PurpleRider 6 ай бұрын
Because I don't like to be stuck in car traffic. I'm not a motorcycle. But anyway, I rarely ride on the sidewalk, and you can see in the video I ride in the roads too. What do you suggest I do?
@kazamaEUC
@kazamaEUC 6 ай бұрын
@@PurpleRider I would suggest not riding in the sidewalk. No reason to be in a pedestrian area if you don't have to. Dont you think? Also no idea what you mean "stuck in car traffic". You're a unicycle, go between the cars... When you're in the bike lane, go bike speed. When in car space, go car speed or faster while not breaking anyone's flow. Just a matter of respecting the peds and bikes. More generally, no reason to not ride in the road in cities unless the traffic speed/flow is too fast
@PurpleRider

I see what your saying. It's likely that drivers would also feel disrespected having EUC filtering in and out. Most drivers in Seattle are not used to what happens in other cities like NYC where there is lane splitting happening on a regular basis. I slow down for cyclists in the bike lane and I do my best to stay aware and give space to pedestrians. The benefit of EUC is that it can go anywhere, it's not limited to one area. It's also a matter of my own safety and convenience. Every city has a different culture in what is accepted behavior. I'm honestly a little surprised how critical you are being of me, a fellow rider. Perhaps you could make a video educating the community and me, so that you can be the change you want to see in the world. If you do it in good faith, I will promote it and give it a like. @@kazamaEUC
@kazamaEUC
@kazamaEUC 6 ай бұрын
@@PurpleRider I've ridden all across the country including downtown Seattle and the surrounding suburbs. Nothing different about Seattle. If you're lane splitting, you're in and out of a space before cars have time to react to you. That's the whole safety pro of lane splitting. Anyways, not everything needs to be a KZbin video. The majority of the community will never care or change how they ride or what they do... And that's fine. But when you post a public video on KZbin, you can't be surprised when you get an opposing view.
@PurpleRider
@PurpleRider 6 ай бұрын
If I'm riding the same streets day in day out, it's different than if I'm touring a city anonymously. People recognize me and if I'm filtering in and out of cars, the drivers are not going to respect that. Many of these people are literally my neighbors. Whereas in the bike lanes, I am safe away from traffic and I often / easily slow down when I encounter other users of the bike lane out of respect for them. In fact, there are multiple instances in this video which I slow down for other users. I find it a little hypocritical that you talk about respecting pedestrians when you have a video of yourself doing the Broadway bomb. Furthermore, Seattle is spending $12,000,000 / mile on bike lanes, which are often empty, so I might as well let the cars have the road while I utilize the infrastructure so money isn't wasted. You seem to have an expectation that other people should ride the same way you do. I will accept your criticism and encourage you to have a more open minded perspective. @@kazamaEUC
