Thanks for excellent video. But I found a problem to fix a magnetic holder firmly to the wall. There is no click to fix the holder firmly to the wall. A small vertical movement will release the holder from the wall. There is no practical need to release the holder from the wall when camera can be released easily from the holder ball. Have you any idea to share how to avoid this defect ?

You are correct the is no click when you put the magnetic mount on the wall. It just slides on about 1/4 in. However I still have this camera mounted on the front of the house to this day and no issue with it moving or someone messing with it. I think this camera is one of the better one in the market as far as connectivity, notification, playback, and battery life.

Thank you for your reply. Probably I do somethong wrong with the magnegtic holder. 1/4 inch is about 6 mm, but I slide the holder only 1,5 mm. That's why it is not steady.

I have seen your video several times and I recognised that you slided the holder only 1 or 2 mm too. There is no difference. I think it is not enough to fix the holder to the wall steadily. It is very risky. Eufy should change the design of the holder, because the concept of a magnetic mount is excellent. A magnet is pretty strong. 🧲

The live view at 7:12 shows the exposure adjusted for the distant zone, which makes the near zone appear very dark-might be impossible to make out faces. Is there a way to adjust exposure for the near zone? It would be nice if eufyCam employed HDR like their 2K video doorbell.

The price for the 2 camera system on Amazon is currently $255. however, additional cameras are way over priced at $180 each. Though you dont need cloud storage, they do offer it, but no free tier. I think people reviewing these that have been sent the system have been duped and sent a non production system. I purchased the 2 camera system and its garbage. Video stops for no reason, purple screens and camera disconnect for no reason. This happened not once, not twice, but on three different systems. Total garbage and I finally had enough and returned it for a refund. Currently have a 4 camera Arlo Pro 2 that cost over $300 less than if you got the Eufy with additional cameras and have had not one issue with it.

@@cameraz99 Arlo would be good, but the app is absolutely TRASH since they aren't part of Netgear anymore. Best decision I ever made was switch to these from Arlo.

Good review. Thanks. More info - $280@Amazon. 3.9* = some issues, read comments. Put it higher up -- out of reach -- to reduce the likelihood of cam theft, but a tiny bit more inconvenient to get it once a year (or more often) to charge the battery.

Is there a way to turn off the HomeBase alarm with the app instead of having to physically push the button on top of the HomeBase? For example, if an intruder comes inside the house while we’re away (which sets off the alarm) and then runs from the house, can the HomeBase alarm be reset while we’re away?

The non-replaceable battery is my one and only concern with the Eufy cams. Every other aspect of the Eufy beats the Arlos. But I'm extremely concerned at somewhere in the 3-5 year range, I'll be chunking Eufy cameras in the trash and replacing them because the battery isn't replaceable.

Several videos online comparing the Eufy Cam E and the Arlo Pro 2 and Pro 3. All the videos I've seen seem to show that the Eufy has visibly better and brighter night vision than the Arlos. Audio quality, the Eufy beats all the Arlos hands down, which have extremely poor audio.

I am considering getting this to replace my Arlo system. The problem is, the batteries in the eufyCam last a total of about 5 years (according to the manufacturer). After that, you have to buy a new camera. So, if you have multiple cameras (I need 3 or 4), expect a major expense every 5 years.

@@5thGenNativeTexan -- I have the first-generation Arlo camera system, which uses disposable (non-rechargeable CR123A lithium) batteries. They last an average of 6 months. The Arlo Pro and later cameras have rechargeable batteries, but I do not know their lifespan. But only the batteries would have to be replaced, not the whole camera.

I wish you could configure how many alarm sounds when motion is detected...as it just alarms one-time . I would like it to alarm multiple times when motion detected.

How good is the algorithm to detect people and not a pet, or squirrel, or even an insect flying at night? I have the Arlo and it is triggered by a squirrel and the Wyse is triggered by insects and rain. in other words, the security is as good as the software recognition method, otherwise you have a hundred false alarms. I have not seen anyone truly do a true superior analysis. Can you test the Eufy for its false alarm capability please. I have also heard the WiFi signal is not as strong as the Arlo’s. With the Arlo I have walked to the end of my neighbors house before I lost a signal. Can you test this too. I do like my Eufy vacuum robot. Thanks

I don't have the Arlo to compare but I can tell you I have had no false alarm on this Eufy. It's installed as you saw in the video for the front door and I only get notified when a human is at the door. There are 5 outdoor cats on my street and have not triggered any falses. App notification always works and never missed any notification. I am very happy with the performance.

Thanks for replying so quickly. I did some research and yes people agree with you. Actually Anker promised face recognition and an album of friendly faces, but not done yet. That actually sounds great. The one problem everyone has is WiFi range. Some people say 12 meters or 36 feet, which is abysmally poor. A Ker is still working on this problem. Once they fix the range issue, they will have beaten Arlo, unless Arlo gets a 1 year battery too and works on face/human recognition. Thanks.

How good is the 2 way audio? Can this be used with Argus solar or other solar panel? Can the homebase alarm be set to only certain time frames, for example at night while sleeping?

There is a couple second delay in the video, so two way communication is not ideal, but the feature is there. The alarm function can be setup for a schedule.
