I bought those. They don’t give stuff for free to anyone as far as I know. Certainly not to me. Not sure what you mean but I've used Neural, Softube, Bogren & STL Tones plugins on many albums I've done as an artist and as a producer & mixing engineer. With my own bands and with other bands I've produced. I'm a professional and I only care about the end result and what gets the job done the best in any given situation. Sometimes my old analog gear does the job the best and sometimes digital. The last time I played a full analog rig live was with Shining in 2017 when we did our first headlining tour in the US. If you are interested you can find many videos about the analog & digital gear I use here on my channel. Free tip to anyone: If a person has no idea what they're talking about, it's usually better not to say anything so their intelligence, or lack thereof, isn't revealed. Btw. My main EV LIVE MAIN - preset is now in the Cortex Cloud. You're welcome ;-).

Glad to see you coming out the closet (:D) with a QC. Hope to see some profiles one day. I went the other way; so I got myself a QC first and some time after that we started (with a friend) to gather around some marshall amps. I feel that I'm keeping both worlds - not a gigging musician though so having a place for the pssibility of playing loud with real amps and a 4x12 cab is a real treat (and it really has been a journey of learning - a 4x12 really opens your ears in different way than a small combo at home) and it's also absolutely great to play using my real amplifiers' sounds for much more silent playing with a QC and 1x12 at home

Man I am so glad that you explained about creating consistency in your tone using digital modeling. This is exactly what i have done using my Helix. I arrived at the tone I always heard in my head ( _finally_ after years & years) through lots of deep dive tone creation & never EVER using factory presets. Then I saved that shit & treated it just like a real set of amps (I most always use two), meaning that all my variations are created using that same tonal basis. I believe this is why alot of players (and sound engineers) are so against digital modeling-far too many musicians use it like _"OH WOW I CAN HAVE A DIFFERENT AMP FOR EVERY CHANGE IN EVERY SONG WOOO-HOOO!"_ Yup and you also have no identifiable tone and sound engineers live will HATE you!

I am surprised with the new rig. Wasn't Iridium suppose to deliver exactly what quad cortex does (whole pedalboard in one small case), but still be analog tube amp? Why switch to quad cortex, especially in the mid of the tour? Was there any important reason for that (other than money as some comments here suggest - hard to disagree, there were A LOT NDSP plugin videos recently). I follow this channel quiet a lot but never seen any explanation to that. For me this channel was always 'real', real guitarist, real opinions, now I don't know what to think. A video comparing old rig with Iridium and new one with QC would be great (but who knows if quad cortex would be happy with such - no offence). And I am saying that all as someone who owns Iridium partially because of Euges reviews. Personally - I tried NDSP free 14 day trials - Soldano and Petrucci bundles and it sounded really bad and computer like to me, maybe those ones on the actual device are better. PS I'd ask one more question for you Egue, or maybe other people as well - for studio recording purposes - what you think you would choose - Iridium or QC plugins? E: ok I watched 1:20, compared it with old Iridium samples that I gathered from past videos and my own recordings and I don't think I even need an answer anymore. Glad I have Iridium.

Hi Sir, when you play digital pedals via studio monitors, do you suffer from slight latency at all? For me latency is the most off-putting thing for me rather than the tone cause they do sound almost identical from pa or studio monitors. Or is it because I am doing something wrong with my signal chain that is causing the latency?
@EugeValovirta230V2 ай бұрын
There’s always a tiny bit but unnoticeable to me. Just set the latency as low as possible from the plugin and you should be good to go. And while recording don’t monitor from your DAW but straight from the standalone plugin.

I can’t myself move away from amps but I’m slowly getting a little digital but it’s just a lot to undertake where as plugging into an amp and turning some knobs is just so pure.
@juventinos813 ай бұрын
The problem is that amps are way too expensive and the search for a good tone will cost a lot of money unless you find what you want sooner than later.And even after that you will have to spend way too much money and time to decide what pedals you will use.A good multi-effect will save you money,time and your back and if you dont like it and want to sell it you wont lose much.

I like a lot especially being a professional touring musician. Makes life so much easy and no need to pay for gear rentals on fly dates etc. And our crew loves it too 👌. I’m definitely not getting away from real amps but it doesn’t make a sense to tour with those; one reason being it’s so expensive.
@cyprianjakubowski69793 ай бұрын
Amps are still so expensive because they've stood the test of time. It's like cash money, or a reliable v8 truck. It has worked for decades and will work for decades. Digital is really good these days, don't get me wrong. It's pretty amazing what a quad cortex can do! But digital stuff has still to withstand the test of time. For me, gimme a good tube head and cabinet all day any day.
@priorwitness3 ай бұрын
Having both options I will say having the digital is great for going to a gig with. Having the real thing is almost a luxury at this point. My Rectifier still sounds better than anything amp modeling offers BUT it's so close today that it is hard to logically justify to anyone to save up thousands for an amp and cab. I even run amp modelers into a solid state power amp that goes into a real cab and it is really hard to tell the difference even that way. But I still hold onto the real thing for the very reason you mentioned: simplicity and pureness. A real fuzz pedal or overdrive reacts differently to a modeler than it will with a digital amp.
@DylanAyalaGtr3 ай бұрын
Amps are great when you’re playing for yourself at home. But for playing live, they’re a liability nowadays. Soundguys always prefer you to go direct. They’re one more piece of gear to lug around. And you never know when a tube or a cap will blow, especially when you play at venues with shoddy electrical. I used to swear by tube amps. But I can’t see myself bringing one to a gig ever again.

Yeah. Some of the stuff from that rig was from the 90s and needed constant maintenance and was becoming a bit unreliable lately, especially on our latest the tour, so I just went and bought a QC and changed everything. Our gtr tech was in particular happy ’cos the shows became less stressful to him. And to me too 😎.

Sorry to disappoint but they don’t give stuff for free to anyone as far as I know.

That has the TYPICAL modeller fuzz, and artifacts . and loss of dynamics of a full valve amp. You live rig with the Bluguitar Amp1 was 1000 times better

It’s official……tubes amps are dead and digital has won. Unless you are a legacy band that can do whatever they want with an infinite budget. Or you just like spending money that you don’t need to.

@@EugeValovirta230V I call bs. Neural must have big, DEEP pockets. The only reason you switched was dollarz.

Yep. Definitely inferior sound. But can’t beat the ease of digital rigs - much cheaper. If I could play as well as you then it would matter less 😂😂😂
