Thank you so much for listening! We really appreciate it! After all 5 is the luckiest number, the record's length is 55.55. The numbers line up, all part of Eunuchs' grand plan.

Glad you covered this. being it’s my introduction to the band it couldn’t have been a better one. I find this album to be fascinating. Evocative vocals, The production and songwriting executed entirely by the band and engineering it themselves is beyond impressive to me for how detailed it is, and still managing to be enjoyable to listen to. I’mma go with an 8. There’s room for improvement but it was a very cohesive album and there isn’t much to complain about outside the slightly confusing narrative of the record, and patience testing abrasive textures depending on your limitations. The vinyl will probably offer some answers on the concept when it gets here, and the artwork for each song is magnificent !

Glad I checked this out despite the 5 because this record is phenomenal. I don't hear most of the shortcomings in the performance, in fact I think the vocalist really sells the act and most songs are consistently unpredictably proggy in the best way. I think the band did good work and the symphony enhanced it all perfectly.

Idk what you're saying about Siren, it's got a verse, chorus, a bridge, an outro. It's a fully thought out song, idea and structure wise. I didn't feel like it bounced around at all And even Heroin King, while 17 minutes, if you listen to it and follow along with the narrative it can be easily broken up into different movements that slow burn and clima brilliantly Mark my words, once these guys release their big album people are going to look back and see how underrated Harbour Century truly is

Oh wow, Surprised I didn't see this sooner, I remember around when the album came out I was actually hoping Fantano would cover it haha! Anyway, There's gonna be a hard disagree on my part. Harbour Century is honestly the most excited I've been for an album pre-release since 2022 _at least,_ possibly even longer, and when I listened just after release I gave it a 9/10. In hindsight, I _may_ have overrated it a tad, But it's definitely _at least_ a 7 in my book. I definitely see the comparisons to bands like BC,NR or Black Midi (The latter of which I really need to check out more of, Tbh.), But one thing Eunuchs bring to the table that the others (From what I've heard, at least) lack is heaviness, Yes in the vocals, With the screaming strewn about the album, But also in the instrumentation in many places. "Pat A Dragon" is primarily horns on the instrumentation, yet still manages to feel very heavy, which is something I absolutely love and would hope to see more of. I disagree about the vocals, too, while I'll admit they're not the greatest, I'd say they're by no means bad, and don't detract from the songs at all to me. And the closer, "Heroin King", I'd actually bring up as a fantastic example of a long song done well because, Frankly, It doesn't feel that long? I mean it feels somewhat long, Don't get me wrong, but I've multiple times had the experience of listening to it, And checking to see how much is left, Only to see I'm already like 7 minutes in when I thought I was just like 2-4, and the ending of it is just phenomenal in my opinion. It also, to me, feels far more coherent as a single piece of music than many other long songs, even some I quite enjoy, such as Sufjan's "Impossible Soul" or Dream Theater's "Octavarium", which are broken into a number of distinct parts that don't always feel to fit together quite perfectly. Anyway, Glad you covered it anyway, Hope at least some people decided to check it out because of this, And I must say I'm very excited for what they put out next, Which I'm sure will be even better. EDIT: I do think much of my enjoyment of the album could be somewhat due to my unfamiliarity with other stuff in the style; When I first heard "Magic Death Sea Nemesis" as a single a couple months before the album came out, I was in awe, I was blown away, Because it was just completely unlike anything I'd ever heard, So heavy, so chaotic, So, Just, Good. And while the sound grew more familiar as the album's release drew, And I listened to the singles much, It's still not really comparable to anything else I've heard, Like there are some similarities to the like 3 Black Midi tracks I've heard, or BC,NR's stuff I've heard, But there's definitely something very distinct about it too, That I loved. It's quite possible my love of it could grow less with increased exposure to similar stuff, But I still don't expect it to fall below a 7.
