People wondering why the other doctors don't trust House's diagnoses forget that House is often wrong several times before he's right, and the consequences for him being wrong can often be the patient's death.
@ERACLAB5 жыл бұрын
statistically speaking it turned out House's patient mortality rate is by far the lowest out of all doctors in the hospital. People usually don't trust him because of his personality and self-destructing behaviour, they think that his decision were literally insane until they worked or didn't.
@CaveSpiderRider5 жыл бұрын
@Christopher Marlowe Implicitly can mean either 'indirectly' or 'unquestioningly', in this case the latter. OP is saying that the other doctors don't trust his diagnoses simply because they are House's, but when House explains his thinking they often let him do whatever he's suggesting.

The writing in this show was so amazing. The writers seem to be aware that the joke at 2:04 was funnier than their normal ones. Notice how after house delivers the punchline we see a shot of Forman holding in a laugh, for obvious reasons. He can't give house the satisfaction of him laughing, or give him the pleasure of seeing his stone cold demeanor slip up. Its so subtle and realistic that I didn't notice it until now, and Ive watched this scene more than once. The little things like this add so much depth to the characters, they seem like real people.

There's also no real consistency in what they claim to be compiling. There are maybe three real "eureka moments" in this video, and the rest of it is padded with House being sarcastic. They could have had a whole season's worth of shots of the camera slowly zooming in on House's face and him explaining what he just realized. They didn't need to show him actually arguing with the patients about whether or not he's right. And that one at the end with 13 wasn't even a "eureka moment". She just happened to see evidence of something she'd already theorized could be the case.

Iron storage disease, one of the few diseases that responds to blood letting (depending on the severity). My ex-bf's mother had it and had to have a unit of blood draw every month to prevent organ damage along with a modified diet. My ex-bf had to be monitored every six months for it because it's genetic. He was also told to eat a modifies diet. And he loved liver too, but couldn't have it. Vibrio, one good reason to not eat raw fish or shellfish.

Yeah, my dad has haemochromotosis and I’m potentially on the chopping block for it as well (yippee). He had to have a pint of blood removed a week, then once a fortnight, then once a month until the levels of iron in his blood were healthy enough that it’s just once every couple of months now. It was horrible for him - it hurt and he’d feel tired and crappy afterwards... but mostly he just bemoaned the fact that he couldn’t drown his misery with a plate full of his beloved steak and ribs xD typical dad lol. People shouldn't just innately trust what they're given, many large repeatable studies have shown, repeatedly over decades, that actually asking questions and taking the time to feel comfortable with and understand a treatment leads to better outcomes. VASTLY better outcomes. Plus he constantly gets people who were given the wrong thing and never trusts other doctors (unless he is making a "always blindly trust medical professionals" tirade like he does several times). The facts, as best as we can tell, are that asking questions about care (especially having a concerned/related third party ask questions) leads to better outcomes.
