If you check the website, you can see that 14% includes speed limiter and safety belt warning system for only driver and front passenger. The footage would include the AEB system, but if there is no such system how they can show a footage 🤣

If you want to know what kind of company Renault is: when the Kwid body cometely collapsed in the failed the Ncap test in India, they decided to make it stronger. And indeed at the next test the body did not collapse. But when ncap engineers inspected the car they noticed that only the driver side was reinforced, because that is the side that is tested. That car is now sold as Dacia Spring, but this time they improved the structure on both sides.

@@LeoMkII yes this same behaviour was noticed in USA in some other brands. There too they now check both sides. People who think manufacturers care about your safety are naive. They mostly care about profits and marketing. Another fine example is Volkswagen. Their front crash member is removable (behind the bumper) and this means cars can be easily fixed after a minor crash. But it comes at a price. The bolts used to secure it can break during a crash, making it less effective.

No idea, but I believe Elon talked recently about how the chip shortage affects Tesla and said there was a time where they didn't have chips to control airbags and that slowed their production down. Might be a "clever" way how to bypass a problem like that.

Hard for zoé. Euroncap straigthen their test each 2 years, so the initial test result of 2015 must be less now. But here, seems that some components are worst than before. And it's not because it's not a suv. Last clio is one of the best euroncap vehicle.

@@kayohh812 I'm not dissing Chinese made products, I use a lot of Chinese brands even. Talking specifically for South East Asian automotive market. In my country, we don't have safety regulation aside from a car having a seatbelt. No cars even have safety ratings displayed on any marketing materials. We also have cars developed specifically for the region, which the Renault Zoe with zero star Euro NCAP rating might crash to and obliterate in the process.

Here in South Africa most entry level cars only include front airbags which really bugs me as that doesn’t offer any real protection or peace or mind as accidents aren’t just head on collisions, but because our safety rules are in the toilet manufacturers can offer this and just sell cars on style and stand out features like you’d find on higher end cars, the problem is that all these cars sold with next to no safety features have no real crash test data to show the dangers of cutting safety for style, this video is a great reminder to those that think that 2 airbags is good enough and will hopefully make them think twice before making the purchase based on looks and an omitting safety. To me safety comes before anything else and always will.

EuroNCAP themselves say that a car that receives 0 stars doesn’t mean it is unsafe, it means it has the minimum safety requirements to be on the road. If you were looking to buy one it’s an understandable choice but if you’re just using one temporarily as rental it’s fine (unless you’re planning to have an accident)

On The 2013 Ncap test Zoe delivered 5 stars. That's why I bought a Zoe ze 50 this year and not a Spring:)). The structural damage inside looks fine, the main fault of Zoe is the lack of electronic safety features... Happy with nu Zoe

The front wheels of Zoe continue to turn after the crash, it means that this car is safe. Renault will put safety assist for entry level and it will have several stars again. They should put their head side airbag again instead of thorax airbag. For a 2013 car it 's not bad . It had 5 stars in 2019

Because at that speed you're dead no matter what. I wonder how many of the people who clutch their pearls and cry about how unsafe this 2021-legal-in-Europe car is actually keep to the speed limit, keep their distance, and don't fiddle with their phones while driving (sober). Looking at the movies and the NCAP pdf file, I see no seatbelt tensioners on the rear seats, no head/shoulder airbags on the sides, no active whiplash protection, no automatic brakes against multiple collisions. That's basically the level of a 1994 Volvo 850 - 27 years ago!!! However, the car can easily be upgraded, and that's what Renault should do.

they will not do it, because they already did it the other way round. in 2013 before the facelift, the ZOE actually had headairbags for the side and they removed them with the facelift a few years ago.

I was considering saving up for one because I’d prefer a smallish EV that’s still practical but the result has put me off buying the Zoe unless it’s a 2019 or 2020 build before the unsafe face lift

The facelift came 2019. I have a 2020 and I'm too affected by this safety compromise they did.

The facelift is as safe as the previous models, the only thing that changed was the norms that Euro NCAP uses, they changed it. It's not only the ZOE that will get this result, every car that got 5 stars before, now it will get less or 0

that would not be a problem if they did not remove the head airbag that was equipped in the original pre-facelift ZOE, see: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqGsdpx9asZmr68 now there is basically no head protection in the side- and pole-crashtest

I think all cars could be dangerous major crashes happen a lot more than 50 km/h, but no side airbags it’s a shame for a 2021 car that tries to be futuristic
