@@random_bacon951 the polestar 2 is based on a concept car for the edit: 40 series so that's to be expected. Edit: its to be expected that concepts lead to parts being adapted later in other series

@@rollsroycetrent1000 It actually is we had an accident with our Polestar 2 and it did not have a scratch (on the back) but the other two cars had to be repaired for more than 15k :D Even the police asked us if we were involved in the other two cars accident. That was amazing.

The average car speed was 80km/h. But yet euro NCAP test way below than average speed to give a star rating. It can simulate the accident during the test but not in real life.

Nice ratings BUT I was quite chocked to the car flattening the pedestrian crossing the dark road... Two things: 1) Put on lots of reflective stuff / clothing when out walking in the dark and 2) Why is the radar not capable of preventing this...??Time for a firmware / software update....!

They later updated the firmware for this. And im pretty sure this is with the auto break at "normal" not at "early warning". Which is what i use with my Polestar 2. Gives you that extra second to intervene.

In the aeb car to car I saw that by millimeters don't wreck against the car that was in the lane, if were a higher speed the one of turning and the other car going at lower speed how would behave the AEB car to car or in the middle of a turning manoeuver another car get in your radius of turn ahead, THE BIG QUESTION IS WHEN EURONCAP WILL DO SMALL OVERLAP TEST LIKE IS DONE BY THE IIHS in the United States and when will do an full rollover test with the roofline strength to hold it's weight or more in case of a violent rollover that might also save lifes if aren't enough the electronic radars and electronics in the today cars

The only question I have is why does it only make this small little happy chime for aeb? It makes more sense for cars to loudly scream at you in emergency situations. And given how it’s a bit late on the braking, it’d be good for the car to alert the driver a bit better. It didn’t even beep or anything for most of them.

If you drive a car with AEB the answer to this one becomes obvious pretty quickly - the chime is to warn you but give you time to react by yourself, so it has to give a warning well in advance to be of any use. This means that in normal driving you will occasionally set it off (On the entry to roundabouts where the car in front of you is pulling away as you close the gap on it is one very common spot - as a driver you know the car in front is already moving out of your way and will continue accelerating, but your car's collision detection just looks at current speed and that of the vehicle in front and predicts the collision based on that). This means having an 'all hell is breaking loose' type warning would lead to people disabling the system because it's too annoying to live with, making things overall less safe.

the main point of the test is to see how the car would react with a certain type of car. They need to keep the same weight for every car they test.

As if it was going to do bad test, it’s a Volvo at heart, surprisedthat if didn’t stop in time at night , maybe a software fix and more of a gap generated when breaking from the sensors and radar would help

It uses LADAR in the front. They most likely tested the first Software Version, in later Versions the Changelog even mentions improvements for the night cameras. So i guess it was just a slight miss configuration software wise.

As far as i'm aware it's a law in Europe for every new vehicule sold they all need to have this feature, it's been active for a few years now. If your car was bought in Europe and is relatively new it should have it.

All battery cars have strong battery case, which helps at side impact a lot. Here we see, car is turning a lot around its axis due to that, which makes me wonder, will it turn a roof against pole at 50 km/h and higher speed? That is very dangerous as roof is one of the weakest part of car and can kill all inside, not only on direct impact way person.

A very interesting question. Since most of the weight is in the battery, there won't be too much force off line with the centre of the battery to create this rotation, but there is certainly some rotation visible here.

They do also have a very low center of gravity tho, so I think it shouldn't be an issue. When a car slides sideways it looses alot of speed and impact energy, so to reach a speed where that would happen then you are dead anyways because of the speed of the impact. Your inner organs would tear apart from all the G-forces of a crash at such speeds.

Already I wonder why the euroncap don't do the same additional test as their American counterpart do with this of The small overlap test and roof strength test to emulate the weight of 4 times the weight of the car in case of rollover ensure the cabin be stable and don't collapse while the injuried victims be waiting in the car by help to arrive, or is that the big European automakers can't do any efforts to make safe cars or make the same quality of car body for Europe and America

В случае с неподвижным барьером хоть какая-то объективность тестов была, что автомобиль, который столкнется с таким же по весу, получит примерно такие повреждения. А тут? Где информация по весу тележки?

При подобных тестах производители включают все подушки, независимо от зоны и силы удара. При реальной дорожной обстановке алгоритм раскрытия подушек безопасности другой.

@@mikhailbarmin6916, нет, это не так. Суть теста тогда теряется. И при боковом же фронтальные тут не работают. А при фронтальном боковые действительно чаще всего открываются, видел много таких примеров.
