Euro NCAP Crash Test of Audi TT 2015

Euro NCAP frontal Impact takes place at 64 Km/h, 40% of the width of the car striking a deformable barrier. In the Full Width test, 100% of the width of the car the car impact a rigid barrier at 50 Km/h. In the side impact, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door at 50 km/h. In the pole test, the car tested is propelled sideways at 32 km/h into a rigid pole.

4 stars because it doesn't have electronic gizmos like emergency braking aid etc. That decreased it's overall safety rating. The Pedestrian scores were also not that great, but in all honestly, who cares. From the video it's clear the car's structure is extremely well designed, most poles crash tests collapse the roof. All the frontal crashes don't even affect the doors or window structures at all. I'd say this is a safe car.

Watch the pole crashtest of the new aygo to see what a really sturdy construction looks like. Its a shame that a car of this price, and from a manufacturer That wants to be seen as 'premium' doesn't have a premium safetylevel allround. Audi is more name then fame. It scored extremly bad in the latest relaiabilaty tests too.

Michiel M I'm sorry but the Aygo, although did well, didn't seem to do any better than the TT in the pole test. Both cars roof didn't sustain much damage. The frontal impact of the TT did much better than the Aygo. Either way, you're comparing a sports car to a small car for some reason. Secondly, you clearly know nothing about new Audi and their safety because their new A3 is the only premium european compact car to receive 5 star rating from IIHS, NHTSA and Euro NCAP and absolutely passed the small overlap crash test with flying colours. www.autoevolution.com/news/2015-audi-a3-s3-crash-tested-both-get-five-star-ratings-video-90094.html Thirdly, Audi isn't more name than fame considering their Motorsport heritage and prestige, as well as being one of major premium car players, whether you like it or not, it's a fact and a fact for a reason. Yes, their cars at one point used to be ridiculously unreliable, but all manufactures go through that. Prior to their unreliable phase, they were extremely robust. Now they are reliable again and offer 2 additional years of full warranty on top of the original 4 year warranty for all CPO cars, so 6 years from inception date. If they weren't reliable now, they'd go bankrupt on warranty claims. Lastly, I've never owned an Audi, nor have any of my family member so no I'm not an Audi fan boy, but I call it as it is.

You should do your homework statement. First of all the Aygo costs 4 times less than the TT and scored just as good, so thats makes the TT's performance questionable. Second The Lexus CT200h scored full 5 stars, and did good in the smal overlap test like the Audi A3. So did the Prius+. The subaru Impreza is a topsafetypick for several years now, as almost every Subaru. A Suzuki Kizashi scored ' good' in the smal overlap tests in 2012, when every Audi ( and VW) failed miserablely. Then third the bad relaiabilaty of Audi. A dutch survey in 2014 showed serious flaws in costumers satisfaction due to engine and gearbox failures. A recent german longterm test of an Audi Q3 didn't end well either, with a complete fail of the expensive DSG gearbox. My conclusion is that the real quality is lacking in an Audi. Its just a premium feel the want to sell, with no real quality underneeth. But back to the disapointing performance of the TT in the crashtest. I really think its a shame that a car this expensive fails to deliver the premium performance you pay for.

I don`t know why anyone would give a car 4 stars due to the lack of emergency braking! Two weeks ago, a new mercedes eclass just dandomly breaked in front of me and we nearly collided. Afterwards, the driver told me, he hadnt breaked, there was propably just a leave or something hitting the distance sensor!

Albert Arrabal How do they care about safety you self proclaimed expert? Advertised safety and real safety are two different things mr. smart ass. All safety they offer is the safety that is needed to meet regulations and tests, nothing beyond that. I don't see any major safety improvements in the last +/- 10 years that have been developed by Audi or the parent VW. The Audi A4 failed so bad in the IIHS small overlap. Stop ignoring facts.

It only got 4 stars because it underperformed. EuroNCAP rated it at 81% for occupants protection. That is really low such a new car. Almost all new cars from big manufatures are getting 85%+ and 5 stars. (Including other Audi's, it just seems the TT is not one of those)

Curley Pubes You should see the Jazz's NCAP test video. There's no class in these tests. This test puts the cars through the same testing mechanism and then calculates a measure denoting how safe it's occupants will be. Apparently, you'd be safer in a 5 star car than a 4 star one. Ultimately, it all depends on the situation. Audi drivers are much more prone to speeding, couple that with the fact that it's meant to be a performance-oriented car. Not that a 4 star rating is bad in anyway, but a 5 star one is obviously more superior to it.

This means that the ratings can only be meaningfully compared between cars of the same type and size" from their own website. you should probably do more research before commenting. your car belongs to the super mini class. this tt to the roadster sports class. the report for this car also says the 4 start is because of lack of electronic collision mitigation technology which your car lacks too but is not expected from the cheaper classes of cars
