I’ve owned a 2 MK2’s and had my MK3 for 5 years now! it’s been the longest car I’ve ever owned it’s been reliable and fun. I wish there was an MK4!

@@ffmRulesnever had any regrets at all! The MK2 is old now, yes it still looks lovely from the outside and is a good car but the MK3 is a modernised perfected TT, the MK3 interior for example is one of the best ever made and is highly praised in the automotive world. The TT MK3 also holds its value well compared to most other cars.

A fault I've found with the TT is a smug sense of self-satisfaction: something to watch for when purchasing. Nice video. Worth a thumbs up.

Got a 1.8 Mk3 and so far, touch wood, it's been pretty much fault less. Only major issue I've had is a water pump replacement. Remapped to 265hp and 300nm, with other modifications, and no dramas.

Owning a 2016 Audi TT with the 230hp engine tuned to 350bhp at stage 2 I can say its a great package with good fuel economy. But agree on all points service intervals should be shortened as i change my oil every 5000 km and inspect things more regularly. Wanting to upgrade to TTRS soon. Not to mention another issue these cars can face on Quattro models if an owner can here a bit of quattro rumble from the rear or excessive tyre slip they may want to service the haldex system and disregard the OEM service intervals for it. That little metallic mesh filter can become blocked reducing oil flow to the system.

I actually hear that Quattro rumble on the rear on mine. Got 60k km, 2016. Should I get the haldex checked to Audi? Driving experience hasn't been affected by it. The car became a bit stiff than 20k km before thoe

@@RakelTnaGamer Take it to an VW group specialist mechanic for Haldex service. Dealer will rip you off. The haldex is a servicable item. So new oil and filter clean.

@@adz5936 just did and they told me to go to Audi lmao guess I had the worst VW mechanic where I live. They really didn't want to work on my car. The Audi dealer it's the only option for me now, preparing the wallet

I am lucky enough to have owned a TT 2.0lt Quattro and now a 2.5lt TTRS Roadster. Problems consist of thermostat housing, super sports seats side panels breaking, sliding ash tray breaking off in your hand, fuel cap either stuck shut or won’t shut, rear numberplate light water ingress which has to be replaced at £120, creaking roof in the roadster but wouldn’t swap it for anything!

Been to look and test drive a mk3 TDI s line ultra in black. It was gorgeous, I’m on the verge of going back to buy. I currently have a Mk1 225 Quattro which I’ve owned for 20 years as a 2nd car.

I’m in the exact same position. Current daily is Mk1 225 Quattro, but about to test drive a Mk3 TDI. It does have 121k miles on the clock though. Did you go through with your purchase? If so, any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

@ I did go back and I did purchase the TDI. 4 months on I’m really happy I did. It’s a fantastic car. The engine has bags of torque, plenty of power. It does torque steer abit if you thrash it as it’s not a Quattro but I don’t thrash it so it doesn’t bother me. It’s just so modern compared to the MK1. No complaints and no issues so far 🤞🙏

@ I had second thoughts after I’d booked the test drive. Thought to myself, nah I think I’ll give it a miss but I’ll go see it as I’ve booked the test drive. Soon as I walked up to it in the forecourt I just thought Wow, that looks amazing. It was the car I wanted, the Diesel and 2 wheel drive I wanted and the colour I wanted. I wanted the TDI because id had a Golf TDI as my dailey (alongside the MK1 TT) and was really happy with it. Let us know if you get it 👍

@ Will do. Yea ive had my Mk1 for 2 years now but a change in circumstances means my weekly mileage has more than tripled so i need something a lot more economical, as it isn’t cheap dailying a 225 Quattro haha. I love the styling and have a soft spot for Audis so didn’t really wanna look at much else other than Mk2 Diesels or diesel Jag XE or something. Fingers crossed it ticks all the boxes🤞🏻

I came from owning Mercedes cars for over 19 years to a very low mileage December 2016 Mk3 TTs which I’ve now owned since February 22. Other than the lack of the bells & whistles spec that I got use to with Mercedes, I have to say the power under my right foot is absolutely incredible.. I’ve covered just over 13k & although I didn’t buy it for it’s frugality, on a recent long motorway journey & mostly in cruise control I was getting near 40 mpg.. I think the only downside was the fact it didn’t come with front parking sensors, but I had these fitted at a VAG Retrofit for around £700. I did notice my driver seat back has started parting,but otherwise no issues whatsoever… Because of the Covid years & the car being sat for that period of time I had a full service including a Haldex service for peace of mind & also the aircon recharge. Just have to get my sav nav updated, as according to mine I live off road & live in a field!! 😂

Owned a 1999 TT Mk1 for 11 years, 226,000 miles on an original clutch, and now have a 2016 TTs with 79,000 miles and still running strong, but interested in getting an used TT RS...

The biggest gripe for me is the leaking roof liner. The water dripping into the side of the boot is appalling and should've been fixed from mark 2 to 3.

You do have the front screen, but no android auto or carplay before 2017. You can get them retro fit though, it's just a software update

TTS and TTRS with magnetic suspension are very costly to replace at $950 (US) per shock no labor included. Beware.

I bought my 2016 Audi TT in 2016 with barely 3000 miles, and had it serviced only at authorized Audi dealership. At around 54K miles, it started consuming oil. Audi had me go through their Oil Consumption Protocol, which tells me that this was a known problem. When the engine was taken down, I was told that cylinder #2 was scored. I ended up replacing the engine at 59K miles; warranty ended at 55K miles. Naturally, my wife was very unhappy with Audi, and swore "never again." There developed faint noise at 67K miles coming from the transmission, and Audi dealer wanted to replace the DSG gearbox for $13K. No, we found someone capable of rebuilding the DSG, and needless to say, I stopped going to Audi dealership for service. At 98K miles, there was hint of transmission fluid leak, so I took it to a reliable place that services Audi R8 and other Audis, for transmission service, replace engine oil pan, clean engine valves. Currently, I just make sure I have regular service, oil change as required as the car has 114K miles. Wife thinks I should switch to Lexus.

I've got a 2015 TTS with now almost 140k km on it and since the last 3 years i've got it, no issues with the engine so far. I should add that the car is at stage 2 since beginning with 400hp/550nm and driven "spirited". Changing my engine oil/filter every 5k km, dsg/haldex/plugs every 40k and the rest as needed.

I can see Audi changing its mind about bringing out an electric tt... no one wants electric cars .so thats gonna be a dead duck. Makes sense to continue with the tt for a bit longer. I dont want to buy an electric car EVER .
