Euro NCAP Crash Test of Audi A6 2018

Additional tests have been done to ensure that the A6 PHEV variant shares the 2018 rating of the Audi A6.
Euro NCAP performs a series of crash tests on each model tested:
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid barrier
- an offset frontal impact test, 40% of the width of the car is striking a deformable barrier
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking systems (car to car, with a pedestrian and a cyclist target), lane support and speed assist technologies and seatbelt reminders.

Try to introduce harder safety tests.. to many cars have 5 stars these days. From 60 to 70km/h it could be a option at frontal impact

Cornel Con you cant because on high speed kinetic energy in chrash can kill you

@@soawn29 that's correct at high vmax the g-force from the sudden deceleration will kill the passengers even if no damage is done to the car at all. At 100km/h it's already around 50g and even jet pilots would be long dead here.

lane assisst is annoing; almost led to crash 3 times (even with white lanes it wanted to drive into the crash barrier instead); others than its lane assistant its quite good

MrGhosz yea right, a car that doesn‘t go through HUNDREDS of crashtests cant be a safe car (in crash situations). That‘s just a fact. And every car model is crashing.
