ANYONE WITH A RTX 2060 WONDERING IF ITS ENOUGH READ THIS this is my second attempt the one I tried 2 months ago I failed not because of your info but because I'm a dumb-ass and did it wrong, and also thought perhaps my rtx 2060 laptop maybe wasn't enough to use triple screens, while my Tobii5 eye tracker is brilliant it doesn't give You the full game immersion so I took the gamble and had another go, I bought 2 iiyama monitors in the sales just under £200 (will sell Tobii for £175-£200 so practically no extra cost and I've got 2 more monitors )which are ips ,180hz and 0.2ms so well good enough ,I followed your instructions to the letter carefully and first go almost perfect, the left monitor things looked a quarter off level from one monitor to the next which I thought I could live with as didn't want to go through the procedure again, then with zero real expectations I just opened the angle half an inch but obviously kept one end touching the back monitor and BINGO perfection...it is a little like getting updated new lenses in your glasses looking at the side panels at times until I get used to it but it truly does enhance the game ten fold, I even like being at junctions and traffic lights just looking at all the traffic driving by in different directions, until you can see the extra it gives via the side panels I don't think You can truly realise just how good this game is.. apart from a MASSIVE thanks again for explaining in such a simple and easy to understand way I wanted anyone with a computer like mine which is only a laptop rtx2060 so nothing big under the hood that YES triple screens does work just as good for me as single screen , the only difference I see is fps which is half what it was before I tripled but I see no difference in the game and 30-40fps works great..

Thank you for the video! I really enjoy ETS2, and some time ago, I configured the game to work with three screens following your instructions. The setup worked perfectly for months, but recently, the game started opening without the applied configurations. Since then, I’ve tried several times to adjust the values in the configuration file within the game folder, but none of the changes take effect. It seems the game is ignoring the adjustments I make. Regardless of being exactly realistic. What can I change in the calculation to give a higher fov. I’ve changed size of screen and distance and it doesn’t change much. Pls help I’ve just tried distance on its own. Whatever figures I put in calculation, it comes out exactly the same. Is there a step missing I’m not thinking of? Do I need to change the configuration bit to 4 again to make amendments or can I just go straight into the multi mon file and then click save?

This is your true to life calculated field of vision. You would not have the entirety of the windshield in your field vision in real life. If you want to see more windshield, increase your monitor size or move your seat further forward.

Hey, geniuine question. I have one 31" monitor in the middle, and 2 x 23" on vertical on each side. When I try to do as you did, the vertical screen are hardset on horizontal and I cant change that. Is it possible to achieve this somehow?

There is a way to do this although personally I would opt for either buying a third 23" or 2 more 31" screens. You will get a much better result. However, I do believe someone in this comments section has posted the solution to your problem.

Tried to do this today, and it worked, but I lost the triple screens on game loading, menu selection (fast travel, garage management etc) and the truck modding while buying menu. It goes to a single screen. Also, the GPS screen moved to the middle monitor and the F2 bonus mirrors moved to the middle screen. Any idea how to fix the issue? I ended up going back to 0 and deleting the extra file to cure the issues. I’m assuming I did something wrong; while I’m old I’m new to PC gaming and building and certainly, the modification of files. Hope I did something wrong as I loved the view I had with the changes you had me do. But I want it without the loss of the other things. Help!

Have you got any mods running at all? What I would suggest is get rid of them all, set up the triples and then gradually re-introduce them to see if any of them are breaking it. The implementation in ETS2 is by no means an exact science 😮‍💨 I am also a massive fan of Calvin & Hobbes! Quality profile pic 👌🏻

You are very welcome. This is usually due to mismatched monitors or differing forms of connection (HDMI and DP being used in the same set up). I would check these first. You can also have a driver issue. I would also bear in mind you are now rendering a 4K + image with the surround so this can cause a bit of a performance hit. Hope this helps.

Following my method you should have no distortion of the side screens. The FOV is calculated and adjusted correctly 👍🏻

after seeing your video I very much like the idea of triple screens HOWEVER as I've just spent a lot of money on a Tobii5 eye tracker would the new monitors make it obsolete as the new side monitors would see 90 degree's either side already for junction and roundabout views wouldn't they, although they might be better so I could sell the Tobii5 ?

I personally have no experience with the Tobii5 eye tracker, but always felt it was a compromise if you did not have triples. I would imagine that it might provide some use for a triple set up but obviously would not be as revolutionary. I am afraid you would more than likely need to try it out and see if you liked it. @@TraumaTeamRacing thank you for your reply, i found the tobii5 eye tracker a game changer for me,i suppose there are buttons or functions you can use to be able to look extra wide on for instance roundabout approach but i'm not a young person anymore and can't be pushing buttons and turning the wheel ect at the same time so the tobii5 was just amazing and got my interest in ets2 back up, defiantly needs tweaking , ive got eye tracking turned off so just head tracking and its almost perfect EXCEPT the price which is extortionate, i got £50 off and still it was £249, but i couldn't play without it...HOWEVER now ive found that playing at default traffic density mode is brilliant when you up it from default of 1 i want to play the best simulation i can so have bought a couple of extra monitors (3 now) have to just navigate the horrific mathematical process you have shown..again its my age before people start telling me "its a breeze man" i will be going so slow do it it will look like i'm in reverse..great videos you do too...

I am afraid if the angles are not correct or it looks misaligned you have made a mistake either measuring your monitors or with the calculation itself. I would advise running everything again, making sure to follow the video in its entirety.

Great Video. What is wrong, if no settings in multimon config changes anything? i got mode2 in config, and followed all your video. the only changes that do anything, is the settings in the config. Anywhere i read, that mode 2 dont use the multimon config, and only 4. If i use the spreadsheet to calculate my values, and put them in the multimon config, they have no effect, only i mode 4, and then screen is absolute wrong.

This will be your true to life FOV. If you don't like it you can 'fiddle' it and just adjust the calculation by increasing your distance from screen. But this will be wrong. I have the same, I can't see the instruments, same as you would in real life. You would have to look down.

I've got 4 monitors 3 in a line then the 4th above my middle monitor, I want to play ETS2 as triple's with the bottom 3, but leave the upper 4th monitor alone just to put youtube/twitch/netflix videos on whilst driving.. is this possible? How would i do it as when i follow this guide it just blows them all out and un ticking the 4th monitor now has me in a situation where it's just gone black. Configure them in NVIDIA to have the triples as a separate surround screen and the 4th monitor separate. I run this with 4 monitors no problem.

@ I fixed it by deleting the multimon file and not using the multimon 4 option but keep it 2 and fixing the FOV in game by editing the fov to 0 in the config this fixed it, it’s way more easy instead of the calculator, the way you have done in is way more complicated then just going to config edit multimon to 2 and the fov from 50 to 0, no calculating needed after changing these 2

With respect you are completely wrong. You need to use the calculator to get the correct FOV for triples. You are almost certainly running an incorrect FOV.

@ the fov needs adjusting after I have done all that, so I went in game and adjusted my fov to around 40, 45 and everything matches perfectly fov feels real, all the lines are straight not a single line going downward or upwards, I have watched Armstrong gaming his video where he showed the easy way of doing it, you can look him up he does the exact same method, and the fov is perfect

@@TarikED30 I am not familiar with the person you have mentioned, but I am aware you can do it the way you have said. The FOV will be inaccurate and not the true FOV for your position and setup. It is not the correct way to calculate it. However, if you are happy that is the main thing 👍🏻 It also sounds like you have not watched the video properly as I state to use multimon 2 and not 4.

yeah all connected to DP(same dp cables), the screen flickers at 165hz (my monitor supports 165Hz 1080p) i had to change it to 120hz then no flickering. Played awhile with surround for few days then suddenly the PC crashes. Went on to use SRWE and my PC has no problems.@@TraumaTeamRacing

man I thought I found my solution and it could be easy. did all the steps but the spreadsheet will give only "#VALUE!" if I put in the details for left and right monitor.

This shouldn't be happening and sounds like an input error, unfortunately. Are you trying to run the spreadsheet outside of Excel?
