El Danzon 2 de Arturo Marquez es una version en clave de poema sinfonico para quitarle el tufillo de musica de pais bananero. Aunque soberbia interpretacion , nada que ver con el Danzon original de La Habana o el de Veracruz. Es muy parecido a la contradanza francesa mezclado con ritmos espanoles y africanos, no sabría exactamente la proporción, en su origen como ritmo propio sería una fusión hecha en Cuba bajo esas influencias. En México tuve oportunidad de trabajar con Acerina y su danzonera, lógicamente el maestro Acerina ya había fallecido, yo cuando trabaje con ellos el director era el maestro Diego Pérez, mi influencia es opera y musica clásica y rockero de corazón, pero quedé enamorado del danzón, por un cerro mejor, Rigolettito, Flauta Mágica uff,

Gustavo Dudamel is one of the greatest director actively working for Venezuela symphony even though the economy in his country has difficult phases, he enhances music education, and still works in Disney Hall for Los Angeles symphony.. It's a shame America don't appreciate this music culture as compared to Europe., however the talent of this students and musicians is world class., hopefully the data is still acure now. Dudamel en su dirección transmite fuerza y delicadeza al mismo tiempo. La orquesta muy sobresaliente. Sin embargo creo que la direccion de Alondra de la Parra en este danzón No. 2 de la autoria del mexicano Arturo Márquez con la Orquesta de Paris es mas bella aún.

No. It's not mexican music although composer is mexican. Danzon No. 2 is influenced by cuban music (danzón), in other words, caribbean music. Dudamel is venezuelan and Venezuela is a caribbean country.
