One of the things I liked about the original was that your party was fixed. It made the cast feel like more of a proper team, as no one was excluded (and when they were, their absence was felt). Still, glad to see this getting a remake, and glad they don't seem to be changing much. The original was just about perfect.

one thing I've always wondered is why he doesn't have a soldier outfit. I mean he was a guard. why doesn't he have that outfit yo start with? or get it later? weird.

He changes into his 'adventure' outfit because there is no need for him to be a guard anymore. The castle is gone and king trode is a 'king' of a lost castle and he needs something confy to wear on a long journey. Also that outfit fits him more to do a journey with than the soldiers outfit tbh :p

Yes I have put 300 plus hours onto the ps2 not including helping out my younger siblings hunt metal slimes. I am really looking forward to dq8 on 3ds too as far as graphics go I think this will be one of the best looking games on 3ds.

Actually localization is complete for DQ 8 3ds. But the release schedule is very tight for 3ds this holiday season. I'm thinking that it's going to be released very early next year.

I always wished that Red could join your party, i never even thought about Morrie but thats g=cool too, he's a funny character. I like that encounters are no longer random, although it will probably make it more difficult to distinguish the really hard unique monsters. +Biddybalboa Mobile version is based on the Japanese original PS2 release which had no voice acting and no symphonic soundtrack like the US/UK release. The 3DS version in Japan has the symphonic soundtrack and Japanese voice acting from scratch. I imagine three things could happen. It'll just be subbed, it'll have original VAs and bring some back for new content or it'll redub the whole thing with new VAs.

+Luchiano Monarch NO, not a remake but an update, made to work for the 3DS but not in lenticular 3D. game dynamics changed so ALL monsters on screen, no random encounters. new charichters added , morty the monster master - he runs the monster arena - side quest. and Red - the pirate girl, there is a side quest for her as well and she becomes a playable charicheter later in the game. when you equip an item it is shown you as wearing it, including costumes. the camers allows you to snap a sefie of your greatest moments , edit it and share it with friends. streetpass feature to interact with other DQ 8 users. and much much more coming soon.

It's not exactly linear, the main story takes many detours along the way, while helping people in need, but you get on track soon enough, and there are a few side quests to complete if you want to take a break , the side quests are optional and you don't need to complete then in order to finish the game , but they give you some advantages early on.

The could but it's a graphical challenge, EX : DQ 8 3ds was lowered in graphics quality, while keeping the 3D sprites, instead of making it 2D sprites in 3D like DQ 7 3ds.

Yes, DQ 8 is more manageable but DQ 7 will have a chapter based system allowing you to deal with the long journey .

I saw that, and outfits on the hero and angelo, new slimes. It looked like Morrie was using claws like the riptides, he might get like Blue Magic type abilities 0.0 He is the owner of the Monstrous Pit. I also read that there are new dungeons too, hopefully like a super end game passed the Dragovian Trials. They need to release this already.

The improvements are nice! Only thing i just want to see are English voices, because we all know how they can be when it comes to that.. I mean i love the Digimon game, but i HATE the Japanese voices, i'm not even following the story because of it (yes the text lines are in English but still..). And i find that sad, not only that i can't follow it because of it but that they don't had the intension of trying to use English voices. I mean atleast make an option then where you can switch between them? Everyone happy then, right? Anyway great job on what they're doing with this one! I can't wait to play it and how it will feel like on a 3DS.
