Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Polestar 2 2021 Update

Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole and the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

The Polestar 2, already assessed last year, has been updated to provide better support in bends when in assisted driving mode. The update to version P1.8, made over-the-air late last year to all vehicles in the market, improves the rating of its system from Moderate to Good.

When completing the pole test it would be good to see if you can drop and analysis the battery pack to see if both cell or coolant has been disrupted, as batteries in some cases have gone days after coolant was damaged for accident effects to become apparent either thermal run away

Thermocouples are mounted on the battery pack casing & sometimes inside the pack before the Crash Test, these are connected to a automated temperature logger that can be remotely accessed days after the Crash Test to check for any Thermal Runaway occurring

Damn, wasn't polestar owned by Volvo? Pretty underwhelming results compared to the Tesla model Y, especially in active safety when it hit the pedestrian.
