BRILLIANT!!! Leave it to the Swedish to come up with something like this. I really hope it's not too many years before entire cities conduct things in this way. I'm sure set up costs are high, but when weighed against the costs of reversing all the environmental damage that's been done for so many years then it's obvious the Malmo model is the way to go. I just wonder how a city's government could get everyone to comply?

Environmental-friendly tasks translate into more JOBS. Even assuming the GW deniers are right (I'm being EXTREMELY generous here), I can think of one task where this technology can still come in damend handy -- colonization of the moon, mars, and even low earth orbit. Up there, out there (whatever) we'll DEFINITELY need the most stringent resource conservation and conversion efforts to establish even a marginally functional colony. Advances in one area make possible advances in others.

Dam, this is BRILLIANT! I so wish Norwegian people weren't so dam slow when it comes down to advancing with technology. Yeah, i do know that we are working on the very useful material called "grafer", which can replace and help processor technology advance even further, but there still need to be improvements done.

This, is from natural thinking minds who live and breathe the same air as others, and actually apply simple mechanisms via 'free knowledge' around them. Human beings like these, make an efficient and healthy impact for others to benefit from. Surely we can all recognize the issues of our surroundings and do something about it... All it takes, is us.

especially with the developments on the Artificial Photosynthesis we can get more energy and more oxygen while getting rid of carbon dioxide cleaning the air while we are at it

It's great that they're finding ways to be more efficient with energy and harness renewable sources. Just to clarify though...bio-fuels are still hydrocarbons, so they wouldn't exactly be carbon neutral...unless they're buying carbon credits, which doesn't particularly help.

So true they have a nuclear power plant just a few miles away which I am sure is making most of their carbon neutral electricity. Don't see much solar coming out of those panels with mostly cloudy skies year round. And where is the electricity coming for the electric cars, I am sure its from nuclear power.
