Finalement chacun pourrait y trouver son compte : Chez KNDS on propose désormais 3 MBT : - l’embt de 2022 est désormais le leclerc evolution, il semble le candidat de l’armée de terre française. - le leopard 2A-RC 3.0 est le candidat pour la bundeswehr ( à voir si une version avec équipage est proposée ) - l’embt ADT est le candidat principal du programme MGCS. chez rheinmetall on propose toujours le KF51 mais le nouveau prototype KF51U semble bien plus intéressant de prime abord et pourrait s’avérer être un meilleur candidat pour la bundeswehr et un concurrent sérieux au programme mgcs. Chacun de ces modèles à son lot d’exclusivités et franchement c’est du travail d’orfèvre. Il était temps que le partenariat franco-allemand trouve sa synergie. Après tout, l’histoire montre que ces deux pays ont toujours eu un excellent savoir-faire en matière de chars. J’ai hâte d’en apprendre plus et j’avoue que l’idée d’avoir une Europe de la défense avec une combinaison de KF51-U, EMBT ADT et pourquoi pas du leclerc evolution en plus pour la France serait assez exitant. Espérons que ces engins soient à la hauteur de leurs exigences.

Le Leclerc Evolution n'est pas le EMBT de 2022 bien qu'il en reprenne la tourelle. Comme l'EMBT 2022 c'est une réflexion pour un char qui sera proposé en 2030. L'EMBT-ADT n'est pas le candidat principale du programme MGCS mais un démonstrateur technologique pour la tourelle et son armement. Cela nous apprend tout de même que la réflexion de KNDS pour MGCS se porte sur une tourelle non habitée mais qui reste blindée et un canon de 20mm en coax au lieu d'une 12,7mm. On garde un tourelleau ARX-30 pour la lutte anti-drone avec une 7,62mm en coax et non plus séparée. Ceci certainement car on restera sur un équipage à 3 contrairement aux 4 membres de l'EMBT 2022. Ce retour à 3 est certainement dû au fait qu'il n'y aura pas un emport de drones ou munitions rodeuses, logique car elles peuvent être facilement transportée sur un autre véhicule et donc ce serait ridicule d'encombrer le char avec. Bien évidemment, le principal enjeux est de pousser l'Ascalon 140mm au lieu du RH-130. Pour moi le choix du RH-130 serait scandaleux. KNDS est un expert du cannon et le Ascalon est ce qui se fait de mieux, découlant d'études faites dans le cadre d'un programme de l'OTAN pour remplacer le 120mm et qui avait déjà vu le 140mm français remporté la bataille. On aura donc vu non seulement un Leclerc en 140mm mais aussi un prototype Abrams américain. L'Ascalon comparé au standard OTAN 120mm offre 40% de pouvoir de pénétration en plus en 120mm et 70% en 140mm. Le RH-130 est à +50%. Par ailleurs l'Ascalon propose de passer du 120 au 140mm en 40 minutes pour avoir une compatibilité avec les munitions 120 OTAN actuelles alors que le 140mm offre bien plus de marge de progression que le RH-130 et des fantassins peuvent se tenir à proximité du char pendant le tir.

It would have been nice to have some info on the KF51-U,seems like a good idea to have MBT and IFV on a common chassis like the Swedish CV-90

That last guy was trying so hard to get through the presentation without screwing up - very tense and red in the face looking. And he used the same sales spiel as used by vacuum salespeople, "Please by these defense weapons for your country so that you are safe." "You love your people don't you?" (Vacuum salesperson trying to suggest that if you don't get as much dirt as possible then you don't care about your family.).

I don't know. I feel like AI and drones are making nearly all of these things obsolete. I can see a day coming where a B21 Raider like stealth plane rocks up over a battlefield and just dumps a whole bunch of autonomous ai drones with different objectives and they just proceed to do their thing wiping out everything from personnel to munitions dumps and even other drones. Nothing manned will be safe and they don't mind dying.

Well they’re busy creating anti-drone capabilities. We have had multiple moments in history where we thought tanks were obsolete and we have always adapted to the new threats.

As a Someone who served in the 80's and was a diver as a civilian, the rebreather with 100m depth and 4 hours duration seems like science fiction to me. Amazing!

100m is well within the O2 toxicity zone (as in nitrox). That kit must have the ability to somehow adjust the mix.

Vive la France! Excited about Europe military industrial complex capacity that is growing not as fast as i wanted to be fully independente from América or any nation. Europe have to press on and Israel is a good allie to jointly develop some programs and give them the capacity that those projects need to be sucessuful, quantity have quality by their own

@@chewbacca3269 The problem is that Israel is helping more Rússia and the other regimes then Europe or Ukraine, they play soccer and make tours to Bielorrússia, they denied any of their systems to be transfered to Ukraine even by third parties, mean while Rússia supplies Hezbollah, Houthis, Iran with advanced weapons and know how to hit and spill Israeli blood so they are more Putin friends then of Europe and they denied impose sanctions on Rússia, thinking better Europe should dump any Israeli system, their systems Europe are capable off doing and even better but Israel do it for free with American aid and Europe money so what we dont develop for lack of funding they take a weapon sometimes improve or just change some small features and sell to the world, Turkey and South Korea already understand that to and are becoming great exporters of weaponary

It seems like the military industrial complex is unsure about the threat of cheap drones, let alone a swarm of cheap drones. Are they watching what is happening in Ukraine, and can't they extrapolate and see that AI driven swarms of drones is the future threat.

Too many weak point observed on new turret for EMBT 2024. Personally, I prefer 1st prototype of EMBT, which is EMBT-2018, combination of Leclerc turret & Leopard 2A7 chassis
