As a Romanian, I can tell you this is very unlikely to happen. Each of our countries has bigger fish to fry. The famous nationalistic rivalry only happens in a small area around the border, while the rest of each country couldn't give less of a fuck about it. It does have semi-modern sights and fire control systems, but its armor and armament cannot effectively compete with anything made after the mid-1980s. That's not to say it's the Romanians' fault for not being able to develop TR-580s (basically a localized but unlicensed T-54) into modern AFVs. Making a modern system with a base platform that old isn't going to be practical, let alone easy, with the industrial base that Romania has.

It was only made for the rough Romanian relief, that's why it is so small and compact. It is a defensive tank, not a offensive one, ment to only defend our territory from invaders, not invade others. And for this strategy it has achieved it's purpose quite well, 6 TR-85M1 defeating 11 Abrams in a military exercise in Germany. And that pretty much sums up Romania in a nutshell, only defending not atacking, even if we could crush the opponents. My wife is from Hungary, I'm from Romania, we have a beautiful family. About the war? I think Viktor Orbán is looking for a conflict with the neighbouring countries, especially Romania and Slovakia. He and his party already interfering in to Romania's internal affairs and this is not going to end up well... There is also a political party called udmr wich is coordinating it's actions along with Fidesz from Hungary and all they do is to destabilise romania and to make Hungarians and Romanians hate each other in someone's benefits... We are now in this E.U. comunity, there is Shengen zone, the borders are being destroyed between member states, multiculturalism is encouraged by this society, i think that in a few years E.U. will look more like U.S.A. than interbelic Europe, so a debate between land will be considered nonsense because we will be all united, working as a one, there will be no teritories and boundaries. I sincerely hope that good times will come for us both so we could get along better in the future.

It really is Interesting... The First Balkan War saw some heavily outmatched, tiny nations defeat an empire. This would be much of the same. Bulgaria, Greece and Serbia vs Turkey would still see Turkey being stronger. But with such a small frontline pushing is not really feasible. So it would most likely be a stalemate.

Like Ethiopia, or Iran, they project down and out from the mountains on all sides, it's not where their capital is but they've got plenty of population up there. And Turkey makes sense because of Istanbul (Byzantium sounds so much cooler), it's so thin and narrow that it's not really a barrier, their metro goes under it. No large Bulgarian cities near enough to power project the border to the Bosporus.

Personally and as a Romanian I have no particular hate for Hungary. Yes I am taught that I need to hate them and frankly I do see them a bit weird. You know what's also weird? That all the Hungarians I met remained my friends in such a way no other Romanians I spontaneously knew did. Same with the Szekely people I know. I think it makes everyone feel cozy, Hungarians and Romanians alike, having this "conflict". The honest truth is that is shows our history. We aren't here since 200 or 500 years, and this conflict kinda blows wind in our sails. I have 7 Hungarian and Szekely friends I can count at any hour. A lot more Romanian friends. NO ONE!!!would kill each other in a war. The only idiots wanting a war are the wife beaters and low life's present at football matches. Oh, and the sharks in suits pretending to represent our interests in parlaments in Bucharest and Budapest.

Problema este mai adanca decat ii uram doar asa, de si multi au murit inca mai exista oameni care au trait vremurile din 1940 cand Nordul Transilvaniei a ajuns la Ungaria prin Dictatul de la Viena, povestile care inca se mai spun de atunci te ingrozesc pana in maduva oaselor si astfel de lucruri nu se vor uita. Cruzimea trupelor Ungare de atunci au inspaimantat tara. Daca acest eveniment nu se intampla poate relatia ar fi fost altfel. Mai este si proplema propagandismului Ungar de la Budapesta care agita lucrurile in alte zone. The problem is deepper than we hate them just like that, while many have died there are still people to lived during the days of 1940 when Northern Transylvania went to Hungary by the Vienna Diktat, the stories that are still told chil you to the bone and things like that are not easely forgotten. The cruelty of the Hungarian troops terrified the nation. I such an event hadn't happened maybe the relation would have been different. There is still the problem of the propaganda coming from Budapesta which aggitates the waters.
