I believe the change to Transponder 4 meant on the ASTRA satellite at 19.2 degrees east. Eurosport started broadcasting 18 hours a day.

To start with broadcasting hours on Eurosport were heavily restricted.

I believe a testcard (of some kind), because the Quantum Channel didn't exist in 1989. Too bad I don't have a provement of it, because this recording started a minute to five (six here in Holland).

@@solojinglesradio1 Yes, but apparently for some time afterwards they broadcast some of Sky Channel's pan-Euro targeted programming under the branding of "Sky Europe" before Eurosport started. This was due to Sky Channel/Sky One reorienting itself towards the UK only, and Eurosport subsequently replacing it on European cable systems.

@@TimothyMischka thanks for this important correction, so it was a kind of program before it was officially a channel, guess I said the date of paneuropean instead of english version because it was 2 versions and later they merged with screen sport in 1993 right?

@@solojinglesradio1 They did merge with Screensport by 93, British Eurosport I think launched later in the 90s
