Love or hate him, personalities like Sam are what every sport needs. You either love to see him win or lose!

Yes brother! I’m 35 and on my journey to do my first tri. You give inspiration to many of us “average joes” to be the best version of ourselves and to keep pushing. Keep doing you, we can’t enough of it! ❤

Jan and a few others are out of reach. But being top 10 is certainly an achievement by itself. I don't think Sam can bridge the swimming gap, but I hope it for him.

I didn’t like his personality at first either, very Sam Leidlow from a few weeks ago. But quite common for some young athletes coming up. It helped him grow quick, put him on everyones spotlight. But he’s got a great heart and he’s so freaking strong. He is so young still and has matured a lot in the past year, so can’t wait to see what his future will bring. Lets go Sam! Great documentary guys 🙌🏻

I think Sam (at only 26/27) needs to take stock. He's obviously got the ability but sometimes you need to race smart, the error at 70.3 (although I'm sure it wasn't his intention) was simply rookie stuff. He's got time to iron out any of the imperfections but sport is often played in the head, for that I can't say how this is going to pan out for him.

Sam long is better than josh amberg. Josh is a decent swimmer but other than that an age group athlete could beat him. Don’t think it’s nice Sam Appleton make fun of Sam long

There is no doubt that Sam Long is a top performing athlete within the sport and no one can take that away from him. On the personality side opinions are a lot more divided though as some find his attitude really funny and others find him extremely provocative. I say let Sam Long be Sam Long all day long, every day, but despite wins he will never gain the popularity of people like Jan, Kristian, Gustav or Lionel, unless he develops a more broadly likeable attitude. Then again, who says Sam Long wants that kind of popularity anyway?

Sam has to keep on going. He could have the stronger legs in triathlon, but he has to improve swimming or he will be out of contention.

Why is it that every video I’ve seen of this guy is him complaining about something or whining? He quickly became a laughing stock for anyone who pays attention to pro triathlon.

Sam just realized he can only win small races that have a decent prize purse. shows up to the big boy races once or twice a year and gets WRECKT and then all he can say is excuses....
