As an American, I really miss the Eurosport coverage of the Tour de France. The commentators and race coverage is so much better than NBC Sports.

Seconded. I remembered why I always fell asleep during the tour as a kid as soon as I watched the first 15 minutes of the NBC broadcast. And this seems like a key part of why there are so few American cycling fans. Who could watch that broadcast who wasn't a fan already?

@@mariusmanoiu2228 yeah but why did he stay behind when Almeida started to push? It was obvious that the team strategy was for Yates, Almeida and Ayuso to interchange equally when Sivakov, Soler and Wellens stopped working. Their strategy was all about maintaining those 3 super domestiques GC position while also isolating other team's leaders. Obviously Yates was dropped cause he didn't have the legs, but Ayuso stayed behind for some time and he obviously had the legs. Even Pog and Almeida started to communicate with the team to know if he actually had the legs and suddenly he came up and started working too. Strange behavior if you ask me. It still is amazing that riders can ride so hard up an 8 to 10% slope, that they need to almost break to make corners. Journalist claim we can not call them modern gladiators or super soldiers, but they themselves use superlatives like galacticos and the magnificent 6. What did we watch this afternoon? Tadej rode this like he was riding a mountain bike downhill track or a Formula One driver. He warmed up his tyres for 120km and then had optimal grip. Remembering Gino Mader, I had a very hard time watching Tadej's descent. Nobody should go and risk his or her life to win a game. Again what have I been watching this afternoon?
