@oxey_
@oxey_ 5 ай бұрын
Considering just how much ground he made sprinting, I don't think it's a conversation that made sense to begin with. Considering Pogi was in Jonas wheel for most of the climb I kinda get the sentiment, but it's not like it was close enough at the end to where you could even argue it was purely race tactics (Jonas being forced to go all out to gain time on Remco where Pogacar didn't have any such obligation) that got him the win
@Khaldor

Should also not forget that it's pretty common that the winner splits the prizemoney for the stage victory with the team mates. So NOT trying to win would also disrespect them for the work they've done

This domination raises some question: how can he push so hard almost every day? And the speed, he is much faster than Lance Armstrong. And we know that Lance was using some potent additives 😂 Not just Pogi, Jonas too. They are on another level. It can't be all natural...
@foldupaudi7645
@foldupaudi7645 5 ай бұрын
@@bogdanescu03 it’s not just Pogacar but also VIN and Remco who are breaking climbing records from people like Marco Pantani who was arguably a better climber than Armstrong. I think altitude camps, better diets, better transportation, better more defined training, slightly lighter and more controllable bicycles. I hope they are all not doping like last time. But I just don’t think that is the case. Pogacar is a once in generation talent who just like Merckx has that cannibalistic ethos in him 👊. Leading from the front will win races, people concentrate on drafting and tactics too much. If you have the legs and the will to win, a true champion just goes for it!

This is Jonas' best ride in perhaps the last 30 TdF stages. He drove with Remco and Poggi literally without the help of the team. He fought for second place in the GC. Overtook those who escaped him for a few minutes. He showed more in the last 8 km than in the previous 30 stages. In the end, he ran out of strength and gestured with his left hand to Poggi to pass because he was exhausted. When Poggi jumped, Jonas just stood up in order to give it his all and finish the stage.

I'm waiting for next year when Vingegaard is back to full strength. It was a bit of a let down this year to have Pog just dominate so thoroughly. I mean, no disrespect to him, he was amazing, but the Tour was not as dramatic as the last few years.

For all the people that keep saying he is on drugs, no, it’s all his hard work,this dude actually put in a 2 month work in France to get ready for this races. He also happens to have money(UAE) behind him. His dominance will last for a long time time, bearing set backs.

In the old days, the yellow jersey would let a contendor have the stage win, if he could not distance him before the final (few) hundered meters as a sign of respect. I wish Pogi would have done that today

Looking at the way he powered away at the end. I believe he could of kicked on like he usually does at the under 10km mark. That being said, doing it now negates what you hoped for.
