Where does this stage rank for you among the great Tour de France performances? Let us know below 👇

Among a lot of great performances this might be the greatest TDF performance in newer time. Especially considering how well prepared he was and the level of competition.
@hugovanhees98936 ай бұрын
Considering the fact Pogi himself already left all the other competition in the dust it's definitely one of the greatest in recent times. One other one would be froomes' breakaway in the giro imo

For sure up there with the best. As a Pog Stan it hurts to say but Jonas was unbelievably good in this TT. It was so good on top of Pogs already good time that people thought he was doping. People may not understand the testing these guys go through now but an abnormal or positive test would be so easy to spot. Jonas was just head and shoulders above everyone else the last week of the tour.
@kennykaniff6 ай бұрын
@@J-cz7yv riders very rarely get caught by the testing. How do people still not understand this!! The most important thing that these Drs offer is the knowledge and ability to not give positive test results!! It's more important than the 💉 itself!! What good is a doping program if you will test positive?? I don't understand why people put so much stock into the testing system. Riders doped for years even decades and never gave a positive test result but many of them have either been caught other ways or they have come out in later years and admitted they were doping virtually their entire career. The testing is not going to catch these lads!!! They have the testing beat by a mile!!! 🤘🏻🏴

@@EurosportCycling I don't think Jonas will be as brave when doing high speed cornering and descending. He might be close on power, but the TDF will be the first time in a bunch since the crash that could have killed him.

He was riding this stage different than everyone else. Everything was optimised 100%. I have heard experts say that the line he was taking throughout this TT was close to perfect. That alone would have given him ~20 sec. The preparation from his team and managers going into this just show that they knew this was going to be one of the deciding stages.

The greatest cycling performance ever. Speed and technical skills at perfection. Jonas will probably never achieve it again. But he did it in 2023. And I will never forget it. Pogi will also remember, the day after the time trail pogi was still mentally beaten. Crashing at the start and the "I am dead". The tour was done. The year after Pogi made the selection of the giro, so he could explain loosing to Jonas for the 3. th time. But the crash of Jonas in 2024, makes the tour an easy win for Pogi. But in 2023 Jonas was the king of the Tour, and the time trial is the greatest cycling performance ever. (And do remember that in the start of the tour when Jonas and Pogi was battling for seconds, Jonas said that the Tour would not be won by seconds. He was saving his power to the two last important stages. What a performance!!!).

@BaLuuish5 ай бұрын
So did I. I remember the commentator's in German TV saying Pogacar looked better off the ramp and I was like, 'you must be seeing a different race.' I have never in my life seen anyone on a TT flying of the ramp going full on kamikaze from the very beginning. I don't know if there has ever been a better TT than Ullrich's 2003 Cape Douverte, but Jonas' last year is certainly at the very top of time trialing. This was one for the ages, as the Eurosport guy in the video says. As good as Pogacar is this year. This is a performance he is still chasing to top.

Bike change is a fun topic. Whether it makes sense depends on the mass delta between the two bikes, at times not fully under control of the teams due to sponsor obligations. The other factor is how much power the rider can produce on each bike when climbing. If there is a big difference here teams should be able to fix it with a basebar and saddle setup that lets them get in their usual position, imho. Also at the speed these people ride, it can be better to stay in the TT position anyway unless it is very steep.

So easy for the naysayers to raise suspicions... create controversy... where there is absolutely ZERO evidence to support any other conclusion except: Jonas is a BEAST on the BIKE. What a slap in the face for The Super Star of Cycling... and it only reveals how petty his rivals and and other teams are who engage in this dirt of doubt, along with fans who just cannot help but speculate and criticize. Kudos to Jonas - his dominance should be revered as an historical achievement - one for the ages!!

Zero evidence? Find me ITT in cycling history where the 1st guy rode 3km/h faster than the rest. Thank you. Even the best ITT specialist in the world - Ganna, Kung, Remco and so on were never able to ride more than 2km/h faster than rest, hell even if you go to the best ITT specialist in history like Anquetil or Indurain you will not find it. Dane + not TT specialist + Never before seen perfomance from the best TT specialists ever = Doper. Or maybe Jonas suddenly became from good TT guy to greatest ever I guess... lmao

@@fangru7294 Again, that is pure conjecture regarding an epic performance by currently the best cyclist, by any standard. Evidence FOR "doping" would be evidence OF doping and neither you nor any others of his critics, have ANY: none... nada... zero ... zilch. As Jonas stated, they can test my blood/urine samples a hundred years later, and they will find nothing. Those that are close to him... teammates, coaches/trainers, etc.... know he does not dope... maybe you should listen to them. Where is he getting the drugs, who is providing them and which ones does he use... who is administering/monitoring them and how does he escape detection despite constant testing? Why would he risk everything? PLEASE enlighten us all with your special knowledge of his shameful illegal activity. (Waiting)

This could be the single most sus performances in cycling history. This is the 2nd week of the TDF and they have ridden over 2000kms up to this point and there is only 10 secs between Pogi and Jonas and then in ONE 22km ITT Jonas was able to take 1min 38secs on Pogi and Pogi was flying for this ITT If you watch the second season of UNCHAINED on Netflix you will see that not only the other teams and riders are lost for words and VERY sus of this performance, but Team Jumbo - Visma itself is literally lost for words and are stuck with the major dilemma of "how do we explain this performance"? Even TJV didn't know how to explain this performance to the masses. All the teams and their riders were fairly open about how they felt about this performance. They said everything BUT "Jonas is doped". When every team at the TDF is sus of your performance and your own team doesn't know how to explain this performance to everyone, you know there is something else at play here and it's NOT better nutrition, improved science, better gearing on the bikes, new technology, expensive fabric for the TT suits etc etc. This is something much more than all of that!!! I was sus of this performance at the time it happened as were many people but when I watched UNCHAINED 3 days ago and saw the reaction from the other teams and their riders I knew then that what I was thinking and suspecting was not a fringe belief. Teams and their professionals have done the numbers on this performance and their job is to crunch numbers but even they can't make sense of this and explain how it was possible without some type of external assistance, whether it was PED's or motor doping!! If this performance doesn't have you questioning if Jonas is clean or not then you don't understand the sport. It really does come down to "if it's too good to be true . . ." 🤘🏻🏴

@@MrDominicharrison the comment I left above was the comment I left in the comments for others to read. I copy and pasted it here because you are one of the few people that are willing to accept it. I've done a real deep dive and done major research on the doping in this sport and how they get away with it and how the testing system is flawed. There's nothing anyone can tell me that will negate all the science and research I've done. It's a very real thing and those that refuse to accept it are lying to themselves. I'm glad somebody else is not afraid to talk about this subject!! Good on ya mate!! 🤘🏻🏴

One word, Tapentadol. Potentially able to give a rider 10% increase in performance. Here we see 5% over Pogacar and nearly 9% over Van Aert. Or it could just be marginal gains 😉

The thing is that it's in-line with what we already knew about Vingegaard -- he TTs better than Pogi in week 3 and he's the best GC ride in general in week 3 because he doesn't fade and on top of that he's incredible studious and disciplined. And he didn't waste time or break rhythm on a ridiculous bike change.

I've done over 18 months worth of research on this subject and there's nothing anybody can tell me that would cancel out all the science and research I've done.
