You are so lucky to have such easy & close access to so many countries, all virtually at your doorstep. I love living in Australia & we too have some magnificent rides & scenery, but it’s so far to travel to new countries & experience different cultures throughout the world! Even harder if you wish to take your bike! Enjoy the 🇭🇷 Croatia trip & stay safe Mark.

Good to see the train again, went on it twenty years ago on a Yamaha 900 Diversion for a France tour. At that time they used a wheel clamp devise, you put the bikes front wheel in it and just got off it. No side stand or nothing. I those days there were not so many bikes used it. By far the best way to get over the channel. Good stuff.

Thanks for doing a video about that; i was only thinking about that very train the other day and how the GS would manage the metal sheets and bumps. Have been on the train many times with a car and forgot how low the roof is.

Hiya! Which tour is it you are doing? Have you transferred to this year 2021? I’m guiding the Black Forest tour in September hopefully. Ride safe.

@@markholroyd5365 Hi, I transferred to the May 2021 Spain tour but it doesn't look viable with the pandemic controls. Still fingers crossed.

This video reminded me of one thing I was wondering recently. You guys are traveling around the world and have vast experience with local laws and requirements that riders have to meet in particular countries. Could you please share this knowledge in one or a series of videos discussing those in regards to European and other countries you know? I am sure many people would be interested and would benefit from this knowledge when planning short of longer trips :)

Toby @RiderCamTv did a video a little while ago about Spanish road signs and traffic laws. Very very interesting. I hope they do more as this knowledge is very helpful and I think would e a great series for KZbin. I do understand that both Mark and Toby are also quite busy with the touring, blood bikes and their other jobs. Thanks guys for the great video though. Shared on CBG..
@michalrybinski32335 жыл бұрын
@@Christian-ve1wi yes, I remember it, but I guess more interesting for most riders as a first point of entry to Europe would be France and its laws. I read somewhere for example that you cannot have camera switched on and recording, also that you need reflective stickers on your helmet in special places on it, generally this sort of things that might be not known by people who are thinking about departing from UK towards mainland Europe - like me :)

When I went to France in June, just two bikes boarding, it was early. Easy way of getting to France, much better than the ferry experience...

Thanks for your inspiring youtube clip. I'm traveling to the uk in june and was wondering how it works with bikes on the eurotunnel train. I'm surprized that bikes aren't secured on the train. I hope the train doesn't have to do an emergency brake. 🤔

A couple of years ago I shared the train with a group of Harley riders. Came into Calais and one wouldn't start. Poor bugger had to push it off the train, considering the weight of the bike and the age of the rider it didn't look easy.

Dont often see a GS off road. Just about handled getting off the train. Impressive what these things can do. I feel the same when I get mine off the drive, onto the pavement. Not tried riding off the kirb yet but why be reckless?
