It would have JUST missed out on a top 5 placement this year, but 1993 was such a good year for song quality! My top 5 from this year are Denmark and Portugal followed by the top 3 which are Netherlands, Switzerland and my personal winner, the United Kingdom.

It's the Swedish Beach Boys! I think their position was about right, quite a fab song performed spot on and orchestra didn't do much damage to it either.

Just been looking at the history of Sweden in Eurovision and listening to each song. I just cant understand WHY ive either never heard this, or ive forgotten about it! I was an avid Eurovision watcher as a child, through the 80's and 90's in particular, and this would have been right up my street. 1993's best. Much better than the crap that won! Also, loved Sonia's 'Better The Devil You Know', but 'Eloise' is so much better.

1993 should have seen this as undoubtedly the grand winner. The kind of song to make Eurovision headline news. These boys have had a lasting career, and the Irish winner? France was my number 2, followed of course by Sonia.

Canción bonita, romántica, melódica, muy vocal y de melodía pegadiza. Tema interesante, excelente orquestación y algunos grandes momentos. Arvingarna hacen directo estupendo arropados por el coro, todo chicos. Su séptima posición con 89 puntos no me desagrada para nada, es genial. Me gusta bastante, tiene algo especial. Y voy yo y les doy 10 Puntazos!

The name of the group, 'Arvingarna', means 'The Legatees' in Swedish. It's hint to that their respective fathers are musicians in Swedish bands, playing dance music, and 'Eloise' fits well in that genre too. Before a radical switch in style they actually played metal, with no greater success.

People say I hope the stagging is as good to be Honest it should just be a song contest but as you said it's the time we live in and oh and Ireland hasn't any hope this year I would go with Spain and Poland The UK.
