My favourite French entry, for me this is what Voilà is for many people. I also consider this the proudest moment of our at times questionable Danish jury with their 12 points (they blanked Céline Dion for one thing) Gorgeous national instruments, and in particular the build-up throughout the second verse and the transition into the second chorus is just out of this world, and I simply don't think French (and Corsican of course) ever sounded better at Eurovision than in this song 😄

il a depuis fait son bout de chemin avec succès. Mais cette année, Mama Corsica n'est pas ce qu'il a fait de mieux! il a fini quatrième à l'eurovision et franchement je trouve que c'est "surnoté" car pour moi, je me souviens l'avoir placée vers la quinzième place!

I remember watching this on TV when I was 12 years old and I really liked this song. IIRC it came 4th in the contest. It was held that year in a converted cattle shed in Co. Cork! The stage for the time was state of the art.

It seems, back then ESC songs were made not for radio charts, but specially for the contest. The result was amazing, and that orchestra sound... it's unique. Btw. in 2017 only Portugal will refer to those unforgettable times ;) Let's vote for it!
