I agree with you on most of them, especially the no.1 pick (Light Me Up is terribly underrated, I still listen to the studio version sometimes), but I'd say that Denmark 2023 doesn't deserve 2nd. I think it's not a very good song, but it is a weak group of songs so... yeah. Overall it's a very good ranking, looking forward for the top 32nd places!

It surprised me too that I ranked Denmark 2nd but yeah, weak group of songs and all. 32nd places is a little stronger at least! Will try to have that video up in the next day or two.

I am not completely sure, but it feels like this might be the weakest group of songs for me so far. I think in all previous ones, I had at least one song that I really liked. And since it seems you feel quite similarly, I guess that was one of the reasons why it took you so long to upload this video, right? Anyways, here are my comments: 10- Belgium 2014: I don’t dare to say anything bad about such a heartfelt performance, and he has a great voice, but as you expected, I am not a fan of the song either. 09- Slovenia 2016: I feel like after hearing it on the radio a few weeks ago, it has kind of grown on me. Like, it did not sound that bad when I was in that supermarket. I did tell you about this, right? 08- San Marino 2022: Good performance, maybe a little bit too much of everything, but it at least somehow compensated for the song. 07- Georgia 2019: I think this was one of my very last places before the show, but I remember that I was quite impressed when I saw the first rehearsal of this, so the song grew on me a little bit. Still, not a fan. 06- Czechia 2017: I wish they did a little bit more for the staging because the song itself is not bad at all in my opinion. 05- Netherlands 2015: I feel like this song has grown on me lately, to be honest. That "Why Why Why" had stuck in my head for some time a few months ago. 04- Israel 2013: I have seen this quite a few times somewhere. Isn’t this a fan favourite or something? Unfortunately, I'm not a fan. 03- Poland 2021: I hate to say things like that, but I think if this song had a different singer, it would have done much better both in the contest and for me. Because the song is not bad, and the staging is good, but some singers just don’t have enough charisma and vocals, and it drowns everything else. 02- Denmark 2023: Well, you perfectly remember what I think about this. The weakest part for me is the song. I got tired of it very fast. 01- Poland 2018: Yeah, I probably have to agree with you that this is the best one in this group. My top 10: 10- Belgium 2014 09- Israel 2013 08- Georgia 2019 07- San Marino 2022 06- Poland 2021 05- Czechia 2017 04- Slovenia 2016 03- Denmark 2023 02- Netherlands 2015 01- Poland 2018

I don't think this is a weaker group of songs than the 36th places one (that one, if you remember, had 3 songs that I absolutely couldn't stand where all 3 were songs I ranked last in their respective contests). But it's a pretty weak group of songs and therefore this video wasn't very fun to make, you're right about that. Yes, Axel (Belgium 2014) does have a great voice - the only saving grace of this song. Yeah, you had told me about hearing Slovenia 2016 in the mall, which I found so random and weird. That's cool it grew on you a little bit, though. The LED's for Czechia 2017 were the worst part of the performance, I think. They don't fit the song at all. I believe you are right that Israel 2013 is a fan fave, considered to be one of the more robbed entries (nearly up there with Montenegro 2013). Unfortunately, I have to agree with you on Poland 2021. Like, idk, picture Aidan singing this song, for example. I think instantly the performance is a million times better and maybe it even qualifies just because Aidan is such a great performer. Rafal is probably a really nice guy, but kind of awkward and I don't believe this is the kind of music he normally performs. Glad we have the same first place, though 😍

@@ESCSteph Yeah, I understand why you think 36th places still were weaker. However, since there was Austria 2022 and Iceland 2017, which, for me, are very strong entries, and while in this group there is basically no song I really, really like, I still stand by what I said previously, that for me, this is the weakest group so far. Yes, hearing Slovenia 2016 on the radio was so random, but to be honest, if I didn't know it's a Eurovision song and I heard it in the mall, I would not be surprised by such a choice or anything. Like I said, it sounded pretty okay there. LEDs could definitely have been better for Czechia 2017, but for me, the biggest issue is that the staging felt empty. I don't know, maybe camera angles could have been better too. Oh, Aidan singing Ride would be very interesting. Yeah, I agree with you; probably he would have qualified.

@@ksesc What saves this group of songs for me is Poland 2018 - I've always loved this song (it was even my pre-show 3rd place though it did fall to, I think, 10th place in my throwback top. But I get what you're saying and why you prefer the 36th places. Now I want to hear Aidan sing "Ride" sometime lol 😅
